Title: Still sourcing for my next Bitcoin miner
Post by: Somegory on November 23, 2025, 02:03:14 PM
Some while ago  I created a topic about Magic miner bg02 which is a Sha256 miner that works like a graphics card, and the most important advice I held on to at the time was the price to hashrate ratio compare to others in the same category, and I believe the GPUs are overpriced at the time but today I have as surprised that the price are down already.

I have already moved on and decided to buy NerdQaxe++ because it is cheaper but I am surprised that it is even more costly than the Magic miner BG 02 today.

Mind you, NerdQaxe++ ($397) takes 100w for 6th in return, while Magicminer BG02 ($357) takes 150w for 7th in return but cheaper.

That is that, something new caught my attention,  the 2025 New NerdOCTAXE miner with 10TH which really caught my attention, it gives 10TH using just 160w, is there anyone who is already using this miner or can share some information about the experience so far? Thank you.

My last question is which home or mini miner is best in your book? Hashrate/Power consumption wise.

Note: Don't lecture about profitability, solo mining all the way.

Purely on electrical efficiency the BG02 is last place by a decent margin. NerdQaxe++ is the most efficient, and NerdOCTAXE is basically double the Qaxe (same ballpark J/TH but twice the hash and twice the heat).

If I were in your shoes, treating this as a solo-lottery toy and not a business, I'd skip the BG02 entirely and choose between Qaxe++ and OCTAXE based on how much heat/noise you want and how crazy you feel about your lottery odds. Qaxe++ is the nicer always-on desk pet. OCTAXE is the chonkier heater with more tickets in the draw.

Personally I'd go OCTAXE for the extra TH/s and because the whole Nerd/Bitaxe stack is open-source and fun to tinker with, but from a watts-per-hash perspective you're basically deciding how big you want the toy, not which one is good or bad.

So why spend 680 for it? It gives you 10 shovels

It is costly

68 a shovel

It burns more like 180 watts.

Good video

I personally would use gear like this.

https://youtu.be/7f3ov4JnzXA?si=3fm9XsKJDGaf0yHF

Downside

it pulls 800 watts to do 36th
It is a bit louder

Upside it is about 800 bucks and you get 36th
If you need heat it will give heat.

You can lower it to half speed say 18th and 500 watts

You can speed it up to 45th and around 1100 watts.

But it is a different animal then the one red panda unit. As it is more powerful

Is that your YouTube channel? How did you have low subscriber on that? Every members on the forum that are into mining should join, thank you for the advice, you just turned that old miner 19xp into a Avalon mini 3.

By the way, the lowest I can see on that chips is 92%, how long can those last for? Since the color is more in green?

You just earned a subscriber on YT between.
