I am proud to present Fantasy Premier League Challenge in collaboration with Epicbet (https://epicbet.com/). For those of you that don't know FPL Challenge is special mode of Fantasy where you pick new team of 6 players every week. To make it interesting and a bit tricky there are special rules for each GW, ie. Different budget, United players score double points, Arsenal clean sheets don't count….stuff like that.

How to join
1. Register on FPL Challenge site (https://fplchallenge.premierleague.com/), you can use your existing Fantasy account and just pick new team name. Maybe same team name is possible, but I didn't try it.
2. Register on epicbet.com site and then join Epicbet FPL Challenge league

Rewards:
Every GW there is new challenge and then your team resets. Therefore, we have bigger rewards for each GW instead of end of season rewards.
Reward amount will be $200 – 300$ paid to your Epicbet account as locked bonus, total depending on number of players, 300 if we get to at least 25 players which should be no problem since there is no sign up fee. After discussing it in the thread we landed on reward split, 200 per GW and adding 100 from each GW to event.

Event - The Festive Fixtures - GW17-GW20 (400$)
1. 150$
2. 100$
3. 70$
4. 50$
5. 30$

That event is comprised of 4 game weeks (200$ per GW)
1. 100$
2. 50$

Tie breakers
Seems there is no official tie breakers or they don't work properly, we will use following ones

1. Higher number of points scored by the player that scored most points in your team, looked at without captain chip but with all the boosts that get rewarded by challenge rules
2. Higher number of points scored by the cheapest player in each squad
3. Better overall ranking
4. If everything is the same reward will be split

Our competition officially starts from GW14, but feel free to join and create teams for GW13 as well. We will use this one as test. Be careful GW14 is midweek deadline, and it will come very soon. Since this is GW based there isn’t a big problem if you join late or miss a GW here and there.

Never tried the Challenge mode, happy to see how it works out. In theory looks like a lot of fun.

Always took Fantasy for granted before the BTT leagues changed it for me and now I'm hooked, so naturally taking part in it for sure.

Thank you, Trofo, for yet another challenge/tournament. Like most of us, I didn’t even know there was a separate mode on Fantasy League. I already looked at it a little — it looks fun, but I definitely would never have searched for it. And now that there are rewards, it looks twice as fun!  ;D

9 of us in the league so far, not bad but not great. Sort of think many people didn't even realize this thread exists yet. Good thing is that we play this week by week so late comers can join at any time.

Tried to check out your teams a bit and I see that players are hidden until they step on the pitch. Don't know if I like this or not but looks interesting.

Shame that for now we have such a low number but I think people will come when they find out how exciting these is.

Yeah we should have given captain to the goalkeeper since every time there is a goal kick it is one recovery. You didn't factor that in with Martinez probably, I did and that is why I went for Dubravka. I wanted to pick a keeper that will face the most amount of shots that aren't of target. Haaland captain with these rules was plain stupid.

Because of this free FPL challenge ... I will join and have made a squad with 6 players that have been provided, this is still in understanding because I didn't know anything before. :D

No, this was a test week to see how it works. If there were more of us I would have probably thrown in some reward but for less than 10 people can't really sell it to epicbet :=) we start officially form GW14, be careful deadline is in just 2 days.

Cryptofrka, as always, started with a high performance — sadly with no rewards. I also started great but made a mistake, as you mentioned, with Rice and Martínez because I didn’t know what “Recovery” means. I was thinking it meant when you lose possession in live play and recover it. All in all, we will have great fun with the Challenge FPL ;D

We will all have 1-3-1 formation Im sure of it. And there are plenty of good mid players under 7 mil. So more fun.

Probably not, each GW has it's own rules so nobody knows. I know there were challenges with limited budget last season. Played one when we had to take scraps cause it was super limited.

Got a bit annoyed I had to change picks a lot (didn't know you could only have 1 player per team) and then came back here and read Trofo's post, so changed formation (duh). Really wanted a full LIV squad. But let's see where this takes me, cryptofrka won Wk13? What a joke.

Yeah, I'd prefer tighter budgets as well. We'll probably have similar lineups this way.
It will be curious to see if people will pick higher value midfielders as well. Many of those under 7 mil look good, then again - Salah's got Sunderland at home..

I played the challenge a couple of times last season, but since there wasn't any real competition I just stopped playing all along, I guess it should be different with some goodies to fight you degens for.

I joined in. I played fantasy football years ago, but it's been a while. I need to do some research. I said "automatic team building" and passed. I'll build a better team in the future.

Well i ended up joining as always, i have my doubts but since is in the same page at the fantasy i dont have to create an extra account there to play so lets go, a few more minutes spend on forum tournaments is not gonna hurt me at all.

It’s only a shame that we don’t have weekly rewards instead of monthly. Because maybe then I could actually win some — being good for 4–5 consecutive weeks is hard for me.  ;D

Giving the fact that you've had to explain yourself to almost everyone over and over again then you must have done something wrong, except everybody is the problem and not you, speaking of which I thought the prizes were seasonal too, lol. You should do better  :D

This is not actually Fantasy, this is Fantasy challenge. Shorter format where you pick only 6 players. Maybe we get you hooked for fantasy in general. There is big pool for it here on the forum and if you want to test the waters we will have second chance league starting on epicbet telegram. Good news guys, we are over 25 players so that means bigger rewards.

Hate that I can't see other people picks before the game starts. On first spot at the moment but can't check what the guys behind me have left.

I got 56 points, that's not too bad😁 But i should probably change my formation from 1-1-3 to 1-3-1 because we get double points from midfield players who cost from 7 million and under? or am I wrong?

This season they are coming in themed packages of 3. Slissy already wrote it in above. Next week will be budget defenders and goal keepers score double points. So I guess we need 3-1-1 formation if it is possible.

Yup, as usual midtable mediocrity for me in FPL, and the same goes for me in the challenge. Serves me right for trusting Chelski, Liverpool etc. Need to be smarter with my choices, but am afraid I'll have no capacity either naturally or industriously. Don't worry, here for the biggest weekly score glory, so don't look over your shoulders too much.

We have following GW 14 winners:

Official tie breakers are not implemented or they aren't working good enough. From next GW I will implement my own tie brekers and for this GW I made a compromise. 4th place reward is 35$, I added 5$ from my reward and split it equally between the two of you.  We will discuss the tie breakers in a chat this afternoon, to see what you guys like the most.

Woohoo my first epicbet rewards not bad 8) Are the prizes added on a specific day, for example every Monday or Tuesday?

I believe they will be added on first working day when I tell my guy who the winners are. Previous GW they were added 10 minutes after I sent them, today, my guy wasn't online yet.

My plan is to group them and pay out asap. So for instance we have the chat on telegram today, those bonuses will get bunched with next week's rewards and paid out on Tuesday since we still have a game Monday morning. Anyway I will notify you at least in telegram group when they are paid and here if I have something else to say to add to the post  ;D

Couple of changes, they are in the OP from yesterday but better to write them here as well.

Rewards:

Due to growing number of participants and some limitations how bonus can be awarded (fixed sizes, no 5$ chip, chips written in the parenthesis) I have redesigned rewards a little bit. I think following can stand for the season.

1. 120$ (100+20)
2. 80$ (50+30)
3. 50$
4. 30$
5. 20$

Tie Breakers:

Trofo - when is player price taken into equation?
Example - I now picked Woltemade who is 7.5. Challenge is Double Points for Forwards priced at 7.5m or under.

What happens if he rises in price before the deadline? I have to track it or is he now locked in my team at 7.5 value?

At the moment you put him into your team. So you are fine with Woltemade but if someone takes him in few days when he is 7.6 he will not get double points.
That is the advantage you get when creating teams early.

Now I know I read that somewhere and that it should work like that but I am not 100% it actually does. We will test it this week since I have Woltemade as well and he will almost certainly rise in price before the deadline.

I think the prices were somewhat deceiving then, before when I click on the check for players priced 5m or Under it showed a couple of players at 5.1m including Henderson and I thought the prices were locked at the time when the game week opened or so, only to find out that I didn't get double points for Henderson, it's not as though it would have made any difference though, but at least now I know better going forward.

It could be. Main fantasy client also has problems and unclear rules but we are all used to it by now. Problem is I didn't play this one enough to actually have it all happen to me. That is why feedback like this is very important here, could be some extra rules in our thread going forward to regulate some stuff.

Trofo didn’t see the effect yet because I didn’t pick a double-week player. But do you get 4× the points if you pick a player who, for example, already has double points that week and also fits the conditions?
For example, would you get 4× points for Micky van de Ven if he is under £5m and you captain him?

My assumption is yes - captain always gets double points so it should be double with additional multiplier, meaning 4x.

You are currently first in GW15, but there is still one game left. If nobody overtakes you, you will get prize for this one.

@Trofo, I only did note that we have a challenge here and it’s run on GW bases which leads me to ask if, I still get the chance to join and get started where I’ve met this if missing GWs here and there could count for already missed GWs 14 and 15.

I might just fill the forms and prepare for GW16 going forward. Do I get to do that or I’ve missed it completely, would want to compete some more here maybe.

Sure you can, it is GW based competition and it will be open to join whole season. You are in for the next GW in line if you join the league and fill the form before the deadline od that GW.

Purposely done in this way to allow people to trickle in. Next season could be different if we have it.

Yes, x2 from captain is added on whatever the bonuses are for that week. So in this case it would be 4x points in the end.

Should be some sort of bonus for those that don't pick the formation everybody's going for ;D
I like the fact that only 1 player from a team can be selected, that kind of complicates things - makes you choose between Saka or Timber, and between Watkins and another Villa player.

Anybody even considering Watkins considering he doesn't qualify for bonus? Pedro does, and I'm sure Watkins outscores him even without the bonus applied.

Thats It's simple you must create an account at epicbet.com  😁 If you have already done so, Trofo probably has your epicbet username. Once the bonus has been added, you will see the balance in your account in USDT. All you have to do now is just to bet and try and win some nice money😁 I think the wager was 6x but thats really easy😁

I was close to the top 3, I hadn't realized that double points change every game week. Now that I know, I should build my team differently and choose mostly players with lower costs and hope they score a lot of points. Congrats to the guys who will finish in the top 3 this gw!

I think that I got Dean Henderson in my team when he was 5 million but I don't have double points for him. I think that I would actually be in the top 5 If he scored double points.

That means we will have to be extea careful about player prices. I am still not sure how it works. Will know in few GW for sure  ;D

I had Salah as captain and of course he didn't get to play 😂 But i still got 52 points in this round so thats not to bad.. What I like about fpl challenge is that we can change our players until the match starts which means we can see the lineup.. I expect everyone to go for 1-1-3 in this round😁

Seems like this season we have something called events in FPL challenge. Fancy name to say that they are grouping challenges into groups of 3. This week challenge is the last week of cut price event and then a new one should start in GW17. If it does, do you want me to make a change to prize structure?

We have a budget of 300$ per week so I could take 100$ from each week and throw it towards event winners. That would give us 200$ per GW and then another 300$ fore event winner. Let me know do you prefer that or current structure where we are simply all money towards GW. Same money just spread a bit differently  :)

For me it makes sense, would give more incentive to try and chain good results together. Weekly rewards are great, so taking a bit of money out of them for events sounds like a good idea.


Neither do I, but for this game it makes sense.
My main problem is now Martinez, he's flagged as doubtful and I won't be risking it here although I'm sure he'll eventually play.

I think that's good , it also spread out rewards to more people which i guess no one will mind , maybe GW winner sometimes as he the one getting cut but he could still win Event

There is another added benefit of event rewards. A bit higher chance of actually making people submit every GW. This isn't like a classic fantasy, if you forget to create team you get 0 points not your old team  ;D

Still some time for other inputs to come in. Will make final decision over the weekend but so far it looks like we are shifting to event rewards idea.

No this is last challenge in "Cut price gems" event. At this point we don't know what will next event be.

The OP says every gameweek teams reset, does this mean we just have to take hits for the week to make this possible to have a new team for the new week,  or maybe pool has been setup to allow these unlimited transfers.. sorry if this has been asked before will be going through the thread to catch on..

Nope, it is the same competition. You can consider it as monthly rewards in classic league. So you are still in the same league, competing with the same team. Just instead of getting 300$ every GW, I will take 100$ away. Which will give us 200$ every GW and the remaining 300$ for those that are best during whole event (3GW in a row).

There aren't transfers here, every GW is separate, you start from scratch and pick 6 players you fancy for that challenge.

I just picked my team for this round and I made a mistake at first and took players that cost over 7.5m so it was good I saw that because I want to get double points on my forwards😁 And of course i go for 1-1-3  8)

Here is the new update challenge from gw 17-20:

Game week 17: Double Points for players with home fixtures.

Game week 18: +6 points for every Big Chance Created.

Game week 19: All goals and assists score double points.

Game week 20: Clean Sheets score double points.

Does this means we have an event comprising of four challenges? They have the same theme so I guess. It should be much clearer after the deadline. That is when i will make final decision but is it is like that. We will have 4xGW with 200$ rewards and then 400$ for event winners.

If any of you guys maybe wondered if you can pick the team after the first match played in the round the answer is yes  ;D. I forgot to pick my team on Saturday and ended up picking in today in the morning and it was quite successful.

Terrible week for me so far, don't think I have any chance of getting even close to the top. But as you said, good thing we start with clean slate every week. Must admit I like this challenge mode more and more.

I didn't have Woltemade actually, I went with Thiago (C), Richarlison and I did Bowen for Haaland before the West Ham game began, I would say the biggest let down was Thiago who was my captain, I should have gone for Bowen...

I did barely above average too, with 50 points only.

I went way below average and I also too had Thiago but I have Fernandes as my captain instead, need to get used to this format my defense and GK didn't do well either.

Yeah same with me when pick Raul and Thiago, they play so basic and got few point for just minute play, for bowen i got 12 pt and if they didn't lose maybe point for bowen will more higher

Well damn, that Man U game was crazy guess having Bruno wasn't too bad, but who know really knows how these games will play out half the time.
Had him as captain so not too bad, but on to next GW and hopefully can capitalize on the home players getting bonus points.  ;D ;D

I had Woltemade, so 0 chance of winning despite also having Bowen between my five guys, another time where Arsenal goalkeeper also fails me, how i can expect they are gonna allow the worst team by far on the league to score against them.

GG, only waiting for the next round to see what other surprises it have for us.

Might just take the 5th spot on this table and win something off it. So much for my first round, after messing up severally at the FPL, might have some good here. Fresh start every other week.
It’s just bad people like Porro was there to mess up my team, Spurs conceding 3 goals and Porro being Porro saw it fit to get a yellow card, his usual souvenir. 51 points from so very few players, that’s too good for the FPL even.

I was in second place until today's match. I chose all forwards to get double points, and only Bowen did. It was a bad idea to pick Thiago as captain and  Richarlison other back pick, I should have chosen Haaland or even Calvert-Lewin who I didn't realize was on a good run scoring goals. It seems like we don't have an event starting at this point so we will just keep the rewards as they are. GW only based.

The hardest for me in this challenge it is to make a team because I keep forgetting about it  ;D

Thank you, Trofo, for the rewards, but I’m a little unhappy because I was in 1st place before the Man Utd vs Bournemouth game, and it ended up screwing me by being the best game of the week. Also, Bruno and Semenyo just had to participate in it, and my opponent managed to score 26 points just from Bruno. But I’m not a sore loser — congrats, man, on a superb pick.

Well this weeks challenge is gonna be very interesting indeed, we shall start the analyzations and see where it take us home for the holidays indeed. ;D ;D

And now we finally have an Event live so I am updating the rewards as we discussed it.

Phil Foden has produced four double-figure hauls in a row , only player to do so in FPL history ... i think law of averages will catch soon so deciding not to pick him for this week.

Quite surprised to see Rice and Bruno here after almost half of the season has passed. Also weird to see so many defenders on the 'best 20' list.

App tracks it. You go leagues, pick our league and then you can switch points between gw, event and season on the top.

Yeah, consistency will be the key. Top 10 in every challenge will probably result in top rewards for event. Feel like it is a bit more knowledge based than single gw rewards.

This may be true but I'll still roster to him till the wheels fall off, no risk no reward plus it's all in the name of fun for me anyways.
And plus the bonus home points why not roster him again, good luck bro on this GW. ;D ;D

It could come down to where the round will be won or lost, since we can only pick one from each team, it's likely going to be a Foden or Haaland situation and that probably would be captaincy choice too, If you pick Foden and he hauls again while outshining Haaland then you just might be incontention for the round and if it goes the other way then you can as well just forget the round too. It'd be just like last round where I could have finished between 3rd or 5th if not for Bruno Fernandes' performance vs Bournemouth which made quite a number of people leapfrog me on the leaderboard.

I've selected my first draft already with zero possible differentials I believe, I'll be looking at which players could be worthy differentials from the home teams.

Expected that picking this would be easier ;D

I think Semenyo is the only player all of us will have. Haaland/Foden split will be 75/25, most will probably have Thiago. Then it becomes fun, but will still probably revolve around a Wilson/Hecke or Mitoma/Andersen combination.

I thought it would be easy too forgetting you can only pick 1 from each team ;D
I'm still rolling with Foden till he cools off and as far as Semenyo gonna take a risk on someone else, but Hecke i'm rolling with for sure though.

Excatly , winner between Halland-Foden duel will most probably determine Winners for Event ..another position that is hard is GK , would have picked Pope but he is injured i'm going with Pickford & hopefully he will only concede 1-2 & will have lots of saves  ;D

I also went with Pickford too ;D I figured he will get a lot of saves in this match plus home bonus why not since my other picks restrict me from picking another player from the teams I went with already kind of a real conundrum. But it should be interesting how it all plays out, will Foden stay hot is the question?  ;D

No ways  :o seems this game is about the differential because initially I had Samenyo as one of my picks, but after reading this am now considering changing my pick just to avoid fighting for the same points  :P

As of the Haaland Foden duel, I honestly think Foden is the heartbeat of the Cityzens..he gets in form and see how City game has stabilized, Haaland is tired and just hanging on  :D

My FPL challenge team is ready! I'm going for 1-3-1 this time. Still unsure whether to take Haaland or not😂 Semenyo is of course on the team..  Now I just have to fix my second team 😁 maybe I should triple captain foden😜

There will definitely be a some kind of tie breaker needed cause I can see a lot of people rostering the same people for sure, that why I tried to pivot off of a few players but we shall see after the weekend  ;D

I went 1-2-2 and so far so good. Avoided Thiago and chose Mateta, Haaland dominated Foden.
Shame that Minteh and Thiaw didn't do much - I still have Leno in goal.

Optimistic I'll be in the prizes this time around.

It looks bad for me in this round.. Damn Liverpool couldn't keep cleen sheet.. I took a chance in fpl challenge and took Semenyo as captein even though I knew I should have made Haaland captain😂 And of course Woltemade had to score 2 goal today when i dont have him 😁 I probably won't win anything in this round😁

If I see on your challenge squad, you only left GK for 2 match later. Hopefully your GK will perform like my GK, I Put Verbrugen and He got some saves and his point up to 22 because home fixtures double point.

I think you need about 20 points from your keeper for the prizes and that is before the bonus. Really though to check other people squads in Challenge. If only we had tools as we have for regular fantasy.

Still 2 players left for me, keeping fingers crossed they do something good for me.

I also have two remaining to be played out, but I made a last-minute adjustment and made an error. I had Verbruggen in goal and Thiaw in defence, and I made a substitution to Ramsdale and Van Hecke, who didn’t even play. It was a big loss in these departments, and it will definitely cost me at the end of the event prizes. Maybe I will dig myself out today.

Yup everything backfired for me also, I had Folden as Captain he didn't make a peep all the mids I had were mid indeed ;D
Onto next GW hopefully it's better than this one, fantasy football is kinda tough man.  8)

You are far from any prizes in this round, you only have the goalkeeper left, he most save at least 4-5 penalties (or more) for you to have a chance to win something 😂 I thought I did well with 134 points but that wasn't good enough in this round either.  Damn i should have just taken Gordon and made Haaland as captain.


We need to do it better in the next round😁

I also currently have 137 points with one player left to play, and that's only enough to have me in the 5th position, I don't think I can make any much leap because 3 of 4 players ahead of me also have 1 player left and he's also a midfielder (Harry Wilson) most likely so, except I seek for another differential player and hope he does outscore Wilson, there is no chance for me to climb up the table in this round.

I hate the way we have to look at results in FPL Challenge, 144 points with one player left (Wilson) and cryptosale on 146 (no players left) I should have enough to take first spot unless Wilson does an epic stinker, 2 points from him are all I need, so just a start and to stay on the pitch until 60th minute is already enough.

On the other hand I have no idea if someone can do even better, too lazy to click squad by squad, but I am hoping everyone has already had all their players play or they have one more to go and in vast majority of cases that should be Wilson.

I've looked at the other teams and these are the closest ones:

FREE STERLING (142 point) have 1 mid player left

Ozymandias_DZ (140 point) have 1 mid player left

Last chance saloon (137 point ) have 1 mid player left ( told he have wilson)

genu (136 point) have 1 mid player left

I think they all have wilson on the team. but if it had been me I would have taken a chance and changed wilson to another player. All in or nothing😁

What other player? I don't think there is anyone left worth having other than Wilson. All other Fulham midfielders that are worth something are on AFCON. Maybe Smith-Rowe, Berge or King but I link my chances with Wilson against any of them.

There aren't many to choose from. You have to go for wilson the safe one but if I were one of the others who had to chase more points to win a higher prize, I would 100% have chosen another player.. Maybe because I'm greedy?😂

It is neck-breaking trying to navigate the results and standings, you'll have to go several pages just to check even your own or the league you're in, awful design and negative on both the interface and experience...

There aren't too many players to pick from, once the lineup is available I might go a different route from Wilson, there is much more to gain going against the pack than is to lose, I believe.

Now I get it, I didn't realise you can change your team even at this moment. Let the mind games begin, maybe I will change my pick as well  ;) Since now I realise my position isn't as secured as I thought it was.

Yup, agreed - I thought I was having a fantastic round and it was actually mediocre.

This new challenge (+6 points for chance created) is a fun one. I did it out of my head but wished I had a bit more time to check some OPTA stats as well.
I have a feeling most of my selected players are creators but I'd like to back some of my selections (like Cherki in front of both Haaland and Foden) with some real data.

I knew everyone had Wilson or gonna stick with him so I went with Kevin but changed to smith row in the last minute!  And smith row was one contribution away from defcon! Anyway it was a tight round well played to everyone and congratulations

Smith Rowe would have been my choice as well, I watched the game, it was super close. If he didn't get out before getting that last contribution, or if Fulham conceded a goal - then cryptosale would have stayed first.

I have a very decent week and i really feel like i can have a chance here also, but after checking it i saw some guys making really good performance in this round, congratulations to them, im gonna make my team for the next round right now because if i dont made it now im gonna forget to make it later.

Congrats guys my round was terrible  ;D made too many risky plays thinking I was on to something but in the end I failed myself  ;D
This new challenge is pretty interesting though I must say, it makes you have to kinda think outside the box well for me at least cause I don't know much about football like that.
But will do a little bit of digging and see what happens, well not too much don't data overload. ;D ;D

Congratulations to the winners, this was another round, 2nd consecutive one I believe that I'm falling short by some really slight margins, I thought they were 5 prices and since I was on the 5th spot, I didn't want to force my luck, if not I would have easily done Raul Jiminez over Harry Wilson, but even the 5th place I was kicked from it by no one else but cls63  :(
