Title: Ghash.IO is awesome.
Post by: kthejung on April 04, 2014, 04:06:35 AM
Ghash.IO is an awesome pool... I started my mining journey at Slush's late last year and have been with them until about a week ago.  I won't go into a long, drawn out explanation but I'm making almost double the amount on Ghash than I was on Slush and BTC Guild.  BTC Guild was slightly better than Slush but Ghash beats them all by a very large amount of btc payout.  I am running 6 overclocked antminers and I was making about .075 btc per 24 hours; I had no idea that the average was this low before I did some calculations.  I decided to give BTC guild a shot and was making about .1 btc per 24 hours.  I started mining with Ghash this morning at 11am and 13 hours later I am already up to .08 btc; after just 13 hours!  I don't know what is causing this huge pay discrepancy but I hope this keeps up.

Pool fee is 0% ! GHash.IO SCRYPT Multi Pool is open for beta testing, if anyone is interested.(invite required)

I'm trying it out atm, looks good.

some nice user defined settings, such as:
  • Convert mined coins to BTC
  • Convert mined coins to LTC
  • Do not convert LTC, DOGE, FTC, AUR
  • Drop miner jobs when switching coins

The most active testers will be rewarded with GHS!

If anyone would like to sign up feel free to use referral ghash (https://cex.io/r/2/efc17/0/).

Much appreciated

I agree ghash.io is awesome!

I will personally find anyone using ghash and end them

Stop using them before I find you or hire someone who will

Your time is near

What you mine will no longer matter on this earth

Ghash.IO is the opposite of awesome.

Can't believe any knowledgeable miner would willingly mine there risking the possibility of an attack.

if you don't know why you see this short term difference then you don't know B/bitcoin.

Gotta love people who have good things come to them and not understand what is happening.  Maybe it's God, err the Bitcoin God.

The sad thing is that this post was started by a user who has obviously spent a considerable amount of time on these forums.  Either it is an excellent troll post, and if so I commend him for it, or he truly doesn't understand the mining process.

EDIT: bitpop you really need to tone down the death threats.  You never know who might take them seriously.

Death to ghash and its users

So Bitpop, when BitFury plows $20M of VC money into industrial-scale mining, will that be a good thing, i.e less total share mined by CEX.IO?  Not meant to be a troll, I genuinely want to know what you think about it.

Possibly they'll kill difficulty more competition

That's kind of how I see it as well, which is why I'm having such a hard time understanding all the outright hate and discontent over what is likely a short-term condition.  I suggested on another thread that the NSA was a bigger threat than CEX.IO & got outright roasted for it.

I can't wait for difficulty to double and kill them and their greedy users

Maybe Bitcoin did think of this with difficulty, you can quickly deprecate older technology

ghash.io pool is awesome but cex is terrible. It was nice when there were no trade fees or maintenance fees but not its ridiculous. Since they go hand in hand who knows what will happen.

You are on that pool for 13 hours and you think that's enough to end up with saying that they are awesome? Japanese culture would put you on fire for that, it's called trust. Wait some time like you did at other pools and than you can compare. As miner you should know that mining has luck included in outcome, so you might be just lucky/unlucky, depends which side you are looking at. Don't say your life was awesome if you hit lotto today, wait till tommorow till tax will fall.

Why, does Walmart and McDonalds attempt to double spend Bitcoins and execute a 51% attack on the network?   ::)

DOA (dead on arrival) is pretty high in ghash.io ... in slush, variable difficulty even with "low mining hashrate" is a good thing.
in jan/feb, i have used multiples pools to view the difference (on 2 weeks for each).

AFAIK CEX.IO/GHash.IO hasn't launched an attack on BTC, nor expressed any such intentions.  I can't speak to the double spending, other than to say it doesn't make sense for an exchange; Mt GOX implosion scenario, et al.

RE: Walmart and Mickey D's; both have been accused using their enormous market share to drive smaller competitors out, through under-pricing; a fiat currency 51% attack, if yo will.

I haven't heard calls for burning Ronald McDonald at the stake, nor expressions that its good to die opposing the construction of a Walmart.  Why such rhetoric for CEX.IO/GHash.IO?  Seriously.

the pool should reach 51% again to put a lot of pressure to the core devs to find a solution for this ongoning centralized pool issue.

51% isn't even the issue for me... The large run of orphaned blocks and the large runs of solved blocks make me worried that GHash.io is making selfish miner attacks.  We need to get them below 30%,  and/or update the protocol.

It's probably because he mines at GHash, is why he's defending it so ardently.

I have 500 GH/s of capacity working at Polmine now, another 260 GH/s coming online next week, either solo or at Polmine and a WOPPING 68 GHS at CEX.IO.  Hardly makes me their patron saint.   :)

Every miner should stay away from GHASH. Their stats may look nice and pretty but mining there is a true danger to Bitcoin
