Is it me or do these look exactly like the HashFast(Scam) boards/chips?

Where/how did VMC acquire these?

HashFast claimed that they're having components shortage hence they dont ship their miners to the customers.....

However its damn clear they sold their cards to private dealers. (increase more cashflow)

Ofcourse these dealers will claim they're producing cards using HF's ref design.

My understanding is VMC had to source the components themselves - but to be frank I don't really care. Can't gettem from Hashfast, gettem from VMC - in stock and shipping.

It was cash shortage yesterday.
A different bullshit everyday.

They are gonna end up with a shortage of capacitors & resistors, as Avalon.

500gh/460w = 0.7w/gh??

Maybe at the chip level or when underclocking them. It's about 1W/GH or a little more from what I see.

Apparently HashFast has a cash shortage so they cannot produce boards but they don't have a Chip shortage so they are selling their chips with their reference design to their boards.

All you have to do is hand this reference design to a PCB board manufacturer along with all of the parts and bam you have an identical HashFast board.

It boggles my mind how they are short on cash when they charged $10/GH and are selling the chips for $1.5/GH

Ok so I tried to buy a board, 181 left when I added 1 to my cart, now down to 179.  But I cannot purchase because the checkout pages never loads the shipping options.  As far as I can tell this is yet another scam, any company that has pre-order products with no delivery dates etc. etc. then starts selling HF boards... ouch.... but I'm not sure how they're getting any money since it seems the checkout process is broken...

update: their call us online fails and the phone number on their website is disconnected.

So this is why VMC can't issue any refunds? They spent all our money on Hash Fast chips and PCBs.  ::)

Stay far far away from this company.

It's a scam.

I handed over money in Dec last year based on the premise that it would be shipping end of Dec. Subsequently found out that it was march and that the unit would never ROI.

Asked for refund.

I send daily messages asking for said refund and have yet to receive it.

Ken Slaughter of VMC is a scammer. If/ when I get my money back -  highly unlikely now, but I will retract the scam accusations.

Hand your money over to this company at your peril

Good on him. I wish ken all the best in his quest to build mining cards. However you can't dispute that he is a lying fuck who stole a vast sum of money from pre order customers to fund it.

This raises serious ethical questions.

By the way these prospector cards will never roi.

Yes in still waiting for comment from ponzi ken regarding my refund.

You guys have to realize that you're not the only ones who funded this company. Ken has a financial obligation to IPO investors who believed in him long before pre-orders were being sold. His business decisions may seem strange at times but we have to remember that he is running a two-pronged business here. Many shareholders have been unhappy at times (I'll be the first to admit that), and customers have been unhappy at times. Fact of the matter is - the rain is gone. You guys will be compensated for lost time with a 250% increase in hashpower and investors will be rewarded for getting this whole thing off the ground. Mining companies have a huge conflict of interest (especially public ones)...but its just part of the business.

I still haven't got my refund aster asking for it 4 months ago and sending messages to him and customer services on a daily basis.

Pray that nothing ever goes wrong with your card because if it does then you will NEVER get a refund or replacement.

Kenneth Slaughter is a scammer ( I am proof of this).

Magzy if you have a pre-order you should be able to get a prospector to fulfill your pre-order? And then you can stop feeling so hard done by.

Those prospectors are a rip off. they will never return on investment: https://tradeblock.com/mining/a/3266f03d7d

only a fool would part with his money for these.

I asked for my money back the day of ordering in december last year - having been deceived on the website saying "delivery end of december"

I'm not giving that fraudster Ken one more cent.

I can not bring myself to ever deal with this company good or bad, If anything should ever go wrong then your money is as good as gone.

These are rip-offs of rip-offs.

First, Hashfast was supposed to have delivered these chips and boards to people like me months ago, then they fail, now they are being sold - on an allegedly in-stock basis - at a non-ROI price by another shady company.

If there's any doubt in your mind that these are HashFast boards, just look at the components and the Rev. stickers on them.  Those are Hashfast's stickers.  These are boards that Hashfast has apparently had in-house, and has been farting around with, for a while.  Same board, multiple revs.  Thermal paste already on them.  Hashfast either did not have money to finish and ship these to its customers or, even worse, they might have been mining with them rather than providing them to customers in accordance with contracts.  Awful.

Oh man, hopefully some people spending time behind bars by the time this is all over.  Be warned that these boards might even be considered, in a way, stolen goods.  Not by VMC really (although it might have knowledge) but by Hashfast.

Honestly I don't care how they're branded, they are obviously used HashFuck boards, hence used thermal paste on the components.  The revision stickers are from HashFast.  It looks like these boards were taken from disassembled miners.

So this is about how did VMC a known ponzi company come by them?

A few people have already received them... but your expectations of "proof" are probably impossible to meet.

Why don't you contact Hashfast, see if they'll sell you any boards... or chips... ask about bulk chips, and you'll soon realise this is exactly what VMC enquired about. VMC has to manufacture the boards themselves, I suspect its through a Hashfast partner, and Hashfast defo provided the design, but it's not a ponzi scheme as you claim.

Not exactly.  Hashfast or some intermediary is selling them to VMC, obviously.

For me, the question is, why does Hashfast seem to have hundreds of used boards?

Maybe they were mining instead of shipping them to customers.
And then sold the job lot to VMC at a bulk discount.

I had asked ken multiple times for a pic of his production facility but he won't probably because it doesn't exist. Same with the refunds. The money was probably used to buy the rig from hash fast . from one ponzi to another.

But it isn't a ponzi scheme if the first generation of investors got ripped off and money stolen (as happened to me)

The truest definition of this would point to it being a confidence trick or a scam.

This is a nicely done setup guide thread.  He obviously put a lot of hard work into it.  If I was the OP, I'd be pissed. Why trash it with "VMC ripoff" posts?  There are plenty of other threads exposing VMC's shady business practices.  Post in those threads instead.

I know!  Between the hex nuts and cardboard tube slices, that setup easily cost a trip to Dollar General, and its dumpster, and US $0.29 to boot!

Well I didn't say he put a lot of money into the setup, lol.  But he did go through a lot of trouble documenting his setup.  And I, for one, appreciate it.  I'll never buy a board directly from VMC but I may pick one up secondhand in the future.  Who know when this thread may come in handy.
