Tesla Motors is a futuristic technology company based out of the United States, that specializes in luxury electric vehicles. They are known to be some of the best technologically advanced rides out there.

An auto dealership based out of Tustin, California says it sold a Tesla Model S P85 to a customer for for 5,447 litecoins. At the time of the purchase, the litecoins were said to be worth around $90,000.

I want one :)

Right now, LTC is going at $11.15.

A total of 5,447 LTC were used for the purchase, that means $60,734.

But the purchase was done when the LTC was at $16.5. That means that the buyer avoided a loss of $30,000!

Should be in alt coin section if it's not about Bitcoin.

Just goes to show the risk involved with dealing in crypto. I wonder what The company did with them or whether they used some sort or payment processor?

The car dealers immediately converted the coins to cash using Gocoin. So there were no losses to them.  ;D

Wow! Should we expect the rise of the Litecoin? seems that it's going to take a big place in the market jointly with bitcoin! We'd better to take litecoin more seriously

Most of the websites which had used LTC has shut down. Examples are Atlantis and LTC-GLOBAL. It has lost its independent status, and right now Litecoin is just another altcoin.

"It's just another altocoin". Sure. Congrats for the fine analysis lol.

It doesn't hurt bitcoin at all man be quiet and relax. Denying the fact the litecoin A FACT won't help yourself to see the whole scenario of cryptos. Also dogecoin are growing up. And namecoin have a bright future. And peercoin. And several others.

Cheers brother.

It is. And Litecoin is a parasite which leaches off the Bitcoin.

Bitcoin went from $0.0008 in 2010 to $1,200 in 2013. What about that?

Ouch! Don't remind me. I was all set to send $1000 of bitcoin to btc-e to buy LTC at 6c, but held back because btc-e seemed a bit too dubious. FFS, learned a lot since then.

I agree. In 2013, BTC-E seemed to be the most unreliable Bitcoin exchange. The real identities of their owners remain unknown, and their support staff are unable to reply in English when support tickets were raised.

But now in 2014, BTC-E seems to be the most trustworthy exchange.  ;D

It all depends on btc's price. If it goes to 1000$ ltc will follow to 40-50$ at least.

There are a lot of new exchanges popping out of nowhere. So BTC-E is pretty much the only one reliable "oldschool" exchange there is.
