In general it has the potential to cause great waves in financial markets as all of those things, thats one of the things that is so great about BTC. To what degree, nobody knows... Seriously, it's a currency and payment system but people are using it as an asset currently, so all three. It wont replace the fiat currency, but its there to give consumers some leg room to create some sort of financial net from bankers messing with the fiat system.
