Do people view the site or is it like hitleap where it runs in the background?

They will view the website like  normal visitors do. Suppose you run an online store for jewelry in UK so I'll divert the UK based traffic on you website say 5000 visitors a day so your product will reach to 5000 people a day without advertising.the traffic is genuine you will get orders if the visitors like it.  ;)
