Title: Buy on weekend or Monday?
Post by: pabloangello on April 06, 2014, 10:45:11 AM
Hi I have a dilema.
I would like to buy some BTC and my thoughts are like this:

- During weekend bank transffers doesn't work so people have less fiat during saturday and sunday, hence there should be less buys then less -> price will likely be lower that it would be if money transffers would work.

So if there are not any big news for tomorrow I suppose that should buy today.

Whad do you think?

I don't think it's because of banks' unavailability but because people choose to rest on weekends. I'm sure those who buy/sell in large amounts everyday have always enough funds in reserve on exchange accounts. So, buy/sell whenever you wish. Right now, bitstamp and btc-e are below Huobi price. So go for it. :)

There is no rule working on that :)

We can say - perhaps usually price was lower at Sunday than at Monday (next day).
But. Nobody knows :)
This is why perhaps you should figure it out in different meaning - do you want to buy bitcoin?
Buy bitcoins.

There are big news in the pipeline, China will probably ban all bank transfers to chiense bitcoin exchanges next week, price will most likely plummet hard.

What I can say. Price wasnt that low from a half of the year so this seems a great time to buy. If you  are considering it - maybe just go for it.

Yes I know, I think we already hit the bottom. Long term it is great buy for sure anyway.

Historically thursdays have been the only day of the week with negative average price change.

I don't think it really matters long term if you buy today or Monday. Most of us thought that BTC would crash when SR was shutdown, but it did the exact opposite.

I can agree with that. And this is what I do think too. Anyway I do not use Bitcoin as a long-term investment ... I use it as a crypto currency :) earn, spent, etc.. :)
So I really believe - every day is a good day for Bitcoin!

I've always agreed with your basic premise, if fiat can't get into the system on days that BTC still gets generated there will be downward pressure on BTC prices.  However, volume seems to go up on weekends so there is plenty of action.  Seems like the time to buy to me.

Good Luck!

The last weekend was fairly strong, so we could see a good rally in the next few days.
Buy now.

:) And now ... price will go up and up! :) you are lucky that you bought some at the weekend.

There is huge possibility that this was a last chance to buy cheap coins ... as from 20h price getting better :) and wont stop soon - my guess

This week monday :) price much better than during whole weekend! :)

if someone consider to buy ... best time to buy is always :) And I see price will go high this week but as we know - I am speculating, nothing is sure.

Tomorrow is 15th :) I believe price will go up ~60$ :)
This all China 15th misery will do nothing bad to the price.
Mark my words. We will check tomorrow - same time ;)

I'm not sure if you already bought, but if you want in the market, this is how you do it:
1) Buy some bitcoin now at a price of 450 (for example 0.5 BTC)
2) If price goes down to 400, then buy another 0.5 BTC (or 1BTC)
3) If price goes to 350, then buy 2 BTC
4) If price goes to 300, buy more
5) If price goes to 100, buy 10 BTC.

Pretty simple really.

to me i always figured to buy sunday night late. it seems most of the time the price goes up coming into the weekend has a drop and late sunday its low then money morning starts to climb again

I do not think bitcoin has the proven price stability to always go one way or another. Price sometimes changes drastically from day to day, regardless of weekday or weekend.
