But in reality, all coins are CENTERED around whatever the developer feels he wants to do when he wakes up in the morning. Just tweak the code after people have been mining it for a year, switch the block chain to a new one (aka fork) and vola, you have 100% control. However, since the price of bitcoin and mint have both dropped my investment is not worth much money. I think it's currently about $30 and about a month ago it must have been $150+
I'm in it for the long run, but it's a bit depressing thinking I had a fair bit of money invested in something that's worth about 5 times less than it was. I am trying to be open-minded as no one knows what's going to be in future. Nevertheless, Bitcoin has already shown us lots of disadvantages and I believe there would be altcoin which is better than Bitcoin (more anonymous, more usable, have a good dev team to be ready to fight with hack attack) , it would replace bitcoin.
