Title: Are you getting a KNC Titan? Why? Why not?
Post by: dyland on April 07, 2014, 04:57:46 PM
Wanted to see the community's thoughts about these machines.

Q2/Q3 shipment timeframe.

Updated expected hashing power from 100Ghs to 250 Ghs late last month for $9995.00. I believe you can get a rebate for these from a reseller for a total price of $9695.00.

Lots of debate on whether the flood of scrypt asics will make these obsolete by the time you get one.

Biggest fear is whether KNCMiner will deliver to you or mine them first, or screw you for any number of other reasons.

They upped their expect hash rate to 250 GHs, it is i believe the most hash per dollar right now.

All said, i paid in BTC and bought me one. I am crossing my fingers that I can get one early enough that I am not screwed watching the difficulty go through the roof while I wait.

It would be better to buy  litecoins instead waiting for months for rigs to be delivered and putting your money in the hands of other people.

they offer 250Mh, not Gh
but as we know history of asics, there is minimum 500Mh in near future, because knc must get back their investment, so its possible that they have at least 500Mh-1G machines at thist time, for mining, and in few months they will promote a "new" product...history repeats

So true, but I could probably make some moeny as well leasing the rig, and mining very new coins (crossing fingers that I don't fork the blockchain xD). I would probably invest in several coins, besides LTC though, but thats a good route to go as well. Also investing the money works too.

No doubt! I am also sacrificing 1000 in dogecoin private keys every day (burning them at the stake)  to increase my chances.
