Title: Propotional vs PPS Post by: aschaetter on January 02, 2012, 11:49:34 AM Over the past several months, I've noticed a huge push from proportional to PPS on nearly every pool with the exception of Deepbit, which offers both options. Are people that sick of hoppers? Are pool operators just trying to take advantage of the low(ish) difficulty?
I've been running a private pool for my friends and myself for the past month or so, and I have to say that it was fantastic splitting 50BTC proportionally. I have no qualms with this because the 1% fee will take a reasonable chunk out of the cost of the VPS that it is running on without the risks involved in starting up a PPS pool from scratch. Any thoughts on the proportional to PPS push??? |
