No one can predict the future and you don't want to lose your house because you were wrong and can't pay that second mortgage you took out to drop into MtGox... If you would also like to invest, buy an extra 5-10% to tuck away when you are refilling your spending coffers.

I'd start with 500 BTC and build from there (10-15% in intervals) while employing some hedges. If you had some technicals that pointed to a rally, you could always buy some extras to capitalize on that then sell them keeping the profits invested and returning the principal to where it came from.
