Put $350K USD via BTC down payment for a $1M USD via BTC upgrade, and the sooner the better.

Fortunately, not even theymos would fall for this stupid idea, but we can all dream can't we?

How about something like OpenID Connect?

http://openid.net/

Update the forum software version.
This is now too old.

Remove the altcoin section ALL OF IT. Everyone should be able to host their own forum.
More multilingual content(hire translators for BTC) Im sure alot of the younger multilingual generation would jump on this its hard to earn money right now everywhere if you are young and in school.

I would like the option for my existing account to add/link an openID login.
For new reg, we don't need it to be any easier to create unlimited sock puppets.

Alts are way too important to try to ban, that would be a really bad move.
Besides, it is a fact that many/most alts have a more balanced early distribution than BTC.

I agree with this, just because it should be a quick implementation and increases security. Definitely open to the OpenID aspect as well.

For having $2,500,000+ in cash, I'd expect a hell of a lot more to get done than what's been implemented already. The only reason I haven't donated is because donations do absolutely nothing to benefit the community or the forum.

I do agree..My name and myself support an alt but this is BITCOINtalk, iv'e suggested moving everything to a sub domain and having the old threads redirected but no response.

And yet theymos has stated that this will not be happening either as the result of his or Slickage's work meaning that someone else will have to do this. I find it rather laughable that it's costing us so much for new forum software and yet we can't even have 2FA enabled.

Start a new forum with different admins?

Everyone is free to do that, in fact I think some already have. If this forum is run as badly as a lot of people keep making out then a new, better forum could quickly arise and dominate.

What changes would you suggest to the trust system, and what and why do you want to restrict to those two forums?

Not as easy or simplistic as that.

And that's why this one dominates and is still used, but if a forum is created that is better than this one in every way then why would people not switch over? All somebody needs to do is create a Facebook to this MySpace and you'll be laughing.

I have to say I don't remember as a punishment spending time on the newb forum for a while before moving on to the big guys. What was that option retired? If that question was already answered, simply point me to the thread as I do not want to derail this one.

This one dominates as it was here first that is only reason it will continue to dominate.

You could and someone probably has reinvented this wheel somewhere else.

Yeah, the newbie jail is gone now.

See my Facebook vs MySpace comparison. It won't happen overnight but if this forum is as terrible as people seem to make out and a new far superior one comes along it'll soon take over.

What would be required is for key community members to back that then people would move.

Who are the key members? I think some of the older members have moved on to newer pastures from what I've gathered.

I wish I could easily sort threads by Date Created, particularly in the announcement section.
