AMD’s new card is pricey and designed with enthusiasts in mind, so few miners will be willing to pay the premium for an elaborate hybrid cooler. What’s more, an increasing number of scrypt miners are looking beyond Radeon graphics processing units (GPUs) for their mining needs. It was about time; graphic cards should be used for rendering graphics. Mining has only been a side effect of their computing power and parallel architecture, and they are of course completely unoptimized to do that. Because, again... their design goal is doing graphics. Who would spend that kind of money in today's market with that kind of power consumption? They don't mention what kind of Kh/s this card can get, but I bet it is not too much more than the 290x. Don't waste your money. Buy a used 280x for $250 instead.
