Title: So much spamming going on here...tighter posting regs/modding needed?
Post by: nanobrain on April 16, 2014, 03:57:18 AM
I used to come here for news as well as contribute but these days its just endless spam from 'employees' of all the new btc blogs popping up eg
Ripdon007 'works' for coinreport
aliceHortrex for cointelegraph

I wouldn't mind but all these sites are doing is reheating old news.

Can you people stop doing this and come up with a more imaginative way of promoting your venture than spamming this board with old 'stories'.  Fellow users - do not click the links posted by alice, ripdon et al

Posters should at least be upfront and put the site name in the thread title as requested, so we can tell who the shills are.

Was wondering why that got moved but then it didn't fit press not a news release
Of the camp that if it is newsworthy and does not all link to the same source its fine
If it is a constant regurgitation from the same source it's worth checking up on

I think another user was banned for spamming their links to copied articles in there (or at least got a warning). It is annoying seeing the same rehashed articles.

Yes, if that's the case then post proof and we'll deal with it.

The users I quoted above all posted 'stories' from their respective sites - alice had posted over half a dozen...I clicked on some of them and the 'stories' were actually content from this forum that had been copied and pasted onto 'cointelegraph'

I will note that the Promoted Articles of the press forum section is being double bumped by the same user
Considering we go back to page 30 and were in July 2013 its a fairly significant amount in a short period

Not really against any rule but the last 14/15 posts on the most recent page were from one user and may be pushing it too far 17/18 is the latest streak

26/35 in last two pages

Simply put promoted tends to mean the most important news at least how I read it regular press news is what the press board is for, so may be worth a look.
