Title: Vertcoin holders! Your coin is fair, and going to go amazing places
Post by: TheCoinFinder on April 16, 2014, 09:37:29 PM
Ignore the badly researched and dumb-ass fud posts, fail to realise that Litecoin had the same beginnings, but Vertcoin has a far brighter future.

Coupled with a brilliant community, professional and knowledgable development team, a strong branding, core mission and quick uptake of a very young coin - we also have one of the best (IMO) decentralised systems in the entire crypto-sphere. 3 P2Pools because 1 p2pool was simply too big... it shows you that the coin is first and foremost for people, not just for one or two.

This is why I am calling this FUD, as its a partial story, with a nice looking graph.

Lets see the figures, graphs and proof first - that one or two people mined and currently hold this amount.

Let's see the figures and graphs, eh?

You can't reject the graphs I show because it is something you don't like and ask for more graphs that show something you do like.

I dont need to reject the graphs. Without the additional research they are baseless. You don't know if it was 1 or 100,000 people mining.

Also, the lack of evidence to support a point is not itself proof against the point. Look up logical fallacies sometime.

Personally, I believe 100,000 vertans mined the first 600,000 coins, leaving each with 6vtc. They all traded them and what we have now is something completely different that probably has no correlation to your graph.

Many people are not familiar with Vertcoin Stealth Address (First in the world), maybe you're one of them  ;)

Quote
At the moment, we’re working on stealth addresses in Vertcoin. Those of you have been around a while may remember, in the early days of VTC, there was some discussion over zerocoin implementation, and we made clear that anonymous/untraceable payments were not the direction we wanted to go with VTC – we are of the opinion that mainstream adoption won’t come from these features, and that they will actually damage the currencies that go down that route. The fact is, people don’t care about anonymity – if they did, they wouldn’t use social media etc.

However, we do believe in transactional privacy akin to what you expect from your legacy payment/banking systems, such that it’s not trivially easy for anyone to see your entire financial history.

Stealth addresses strike a good balance – all the transactions are still on the blockchain to be seen, but the link between an address and an individual is obfuscated. One thing that not many people seem to consider when talking about anonymity systems in cryptocurrencies is that true anonymous payments make all the blockchain tools you’re used to useless.

Stealth addresses increase privacy for a recipient by allowing you to publish a stealth address, which is like a seed which the sender then uses to generate a unique one-use Vertcoin address for the transaction. All the transactions remain public on the blockchain, but knowing the entire transactional history of your stealth address is now no-longer possible except for you, the holder of the secret key.
