I like the idea to make a seperate topic regarding the logo question.

On the website you can select multiple logos, here only one favorite. We will check the results of both polls and decide what to do. Most likely there will be a second vote with the best of X logos.

thanks for all suggestions so far. I must say there are quite some good suggestions that would be suitable for eXocoin! I think we should take some more time and then do a vote again. We do not need to change the logo before the official launch I would say. Besides: The current logo is not that bad. The creator of the chosen logo will get a medium bounty on top. Others might get a minor bounty as well.

As mentioned before, all of them are just drafts to provide my ideas to the community and to give an inspiration to someone else. However, there is still more to come. I have some more ideas. ;D

I did this grayscale comparison table to give an alternative (maybe more uniform and analogical) point of view on current logo ideas. Each design is scaled down inside 100x100 pixel boundary. These are the logos only, no additional texts or 3d renderings.

I think it is a very good idea by gvans, not only to put all suggestions which have been made so far into this grayscale overview, but also to present his logo-design proposals in a small and a gray version as well. I will present my next proposals, I'm working on right know, in the same way.

By the way, I like gvans design. Reminds me of sci-fi electric circuit. :-)
But I was wondering, should the logo represent a coin or money in some way. In order to make everyone (not only people involved in the crypto currency scene)  to easily understand what exo coin is.   ???

I don't think that is obligatory. But sure, why not if you find a good way to do it. But even currency or money is rather generic subject/matter. I would rather see exo-logo, as any other logo too, just somehow catchy, fresh, recognisable and simple enough. Like Nike logo for example, does not necessarily mean anything but is recognisable. I may as well make another proposal still too if I can come up with something new. Anyhow it's healty to discuss the logo-issue in open manner and not to rush with the decision.

Yes, these seem a joke that is learning to tinker with graphics software.

The first was just a ready font. You can pick any one here (stay cool writing EXO):

I tried to do something, but it was not good.
The only thing that seems to be made by a designer is gvans.
If it is not choice, the devs should hire a professional designer.

I also did some proposals, but now I don't like them anymore. I'm wondering if there is no professional designer having a peek in the exo coin logo thread.  ???
However, at the end of the day, even if there is no professional designer, there has to be a clean, appealing and unique logo somehow representing the idea behind exo coin.
By the way, does anyone know, what is the idea and what is the meaning of the name "exo coin"?

Compared with others,this logo is shocked. i like it .

Updated the comparison and inverted it to get another angle. So again logos only squeezed inside 100x100 pix each.

edit: I know downscaling does not do justice to some logos and some designs really need the colour to stand out.
But this is one way to judge purely graphic qualities of different designs. A strong logo will work small scale b&w.

We could make a vote within our homepage, allowing only already registered users to vote. Not sure if that would be better... This or the other way we cannot make a perfect fair vote on that.

- vote here on bitcointalk, open for everyone
- vote on website, open for registered people (no new registrations are possible right now by the way)
- vote on startup of the GUI client V0.6 once it is out, open for all people who download the client

I really like the orange on turquoise. My apologies but I could not help myself and I had to tamper with your design a little. So my intention is not to step on your toes or steal anything, I just suggest here to think of the letter "O" to be more readable in the logo. This sketch/suggestion could be one of the ways to reach that goal if you want to consider tweaking your design little further :) What do you think?

I also thought about some tweaking of your first proposal. Based on the electric circuit/robot/circuit thing I had in mind first I saw it.  However, I never did a digital design. Just some paper sketches.
