Title: When do the SecondMarket and Winklevoss ETF's go live?
Post by: Paladin69 on April 19, 2014, 05:29:48 PM
So when does Wall Street actually get in?

Per this article (http://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/041114/why-winklevoss-twins-new-bitcoin-etf-matters.asp), it says it could be approved by the end of 2014.

I would be very surprised if it does get approved, since Wall Street is pretty much big banks which are against decentralized currency.

Bitcoin EFT is for the masses without that technical barrier to entry required to purchase and safely keep BTC.  If or when it does get approved, watch out for the wildest ride of your BTC life.

EFT is for take action on variation ... it's not a bitcoin value system.
it's like the weather or the orange juice ... already quoted on wall street frame.

Wall Street is also full of young people that hold no allegiance to the banks.  I wouldn't say every single person out there is conspiring against us.

Also, I thought I heard SecondMarket would come online sooner within a few months?

second markets is not coming up with an ETF. I believe they are planning to allow trading of their trust shares on OTC markets?

I think it still creates a sense of panic though and would be influential.  A drop or rise on okcoin causes western markets to drop as well by sheer emotion for example.

I'm of the belief this will have an effect.

I believe SecondMarket is already live. It isn't an ETF so it didn't require nearly as much paperwork as what the Winklevii are doing. As for their ETF, I heard possibly later this year.
