This is an extraordinarily rare gemstone that collectors will appreciate.  Oligoclase is so rare here in the colored gemstone center of Thailand that I have only ever seen it offered one time in the last eight years.  I have an extremely small amount of it for sale- most of the pieces are already sold and they went very quickly to some of my best clients in Europe, Japan, and the U.S.

This beautiful light mint bluish-Green gemstone weighs 1.68 carats and the dimensions are 8.99 x 7.03 x 5.52mm deep.  It is a superb example of oligoclase with VVS clarity (very very slightly included- only tiny and few inclusions) and superb cutting for a ton of sparkle.  At over 1 1/2 carats, this is a large oligoclase.  With very few quality crystals over a gram in rough weight, the material just does not cut large stones.  This gemstone was mined as a rough crystal in Tanzania.  It has not been treated in any way other than to be cut and polished.  This is a 100% natural rare gemstone.

We are conditioned to believe that if you have enough money, you can have anything.  In the world of rare gemstones that most certainly is not true.  Some money is needed, yes- but perhaps not as much as you might think.  Much more important is your source.  You need someone who understands the appeal of gemstone collecting, understands that beauty, rarity, and price need to come together to find a rare stone a new home.  You also need someone who has a lot of knowledge and experience in wholesale gem markets and who has made the efforts to meet the right people. 

My wife, Melanie, and I have been very fortunate to meet an eclectic mix of rough and cut gemstone traders here in Thailand and because we are interested in rare stones ourselves it is much easier to serve clients who appreciate this niche in the gemstone trade.  While we source in Bangkok, the traders with whom we deal come from India, Sri Lanka, Guinea, Tanzania, and many other mining centers all around the world.

Because we are an extremely lean operation (not including me- I'm rather fat) we can offer prices that are virtually unheard of on rare gemstones.  Our apartment in Bangkok is only ten minutes by skytrain to the Silom gemstone district, so we don't rent an office.  Because we buy consistently we have the purchasing power to get considerable discounts from our suppliers.  We want to be your supplier for all colored gemstones.  If you are concerned first and foremost with quality, we would be a good fit for each other.  There are certainly dealers that sell the same gemstones that we do for less.  But they do not, and will not EVER sell the quality that we sell for less.  It can't be done.
