I just think it's pretty cool that he's paying attention to Bitcoin. This could get us noticed by some people who normally wouldn't care.

Now we have a large number of Republicans, at least one Democrat and multiple Libertarians accepting Bitcoins for their campaigns in the US. What is important in this case is that Greg Abbott is almost certain to win the Texas gubernatorial election of 2014. It really helps to have a governor (and that too in one of the most popular states) who supports Bitcoins!
