Title: Peercoin Weekly Review: Peerunity Specs - Peershares Hiring - GoCoin
Post by: river333 on April 20, 2014, 02:27:06 PM
Here is a review of some of the more important things that happened with Peercoin this week.

#1. The specifications of the first Peerunity release have been announced (http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=2648.msg23140#msg23140). The new dual Peercoin/Peershares client will include coin control, menu based minting, and createmultisig. There will also be improved branding and logo. You can now get tipped for helping with testing (http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=2648.msg23315#msg23315).

#2. Peershares are looking to hire (http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=527.msg23220#msg23220) a senior C++ Developer as well as a QA Engineer. There is a referral bonus if you know someone who might be interested. The Peershares Qt will also soon be available for public testing.

#3. GoCoin have said that Peercoin is on the top of their list, and that they are now working on adding it to their payment processor. Moolah have also confirmed that Peercoin will be making the switch to the full platform (it is already on their exchange Prelude.io). Positive responses also came this week from Coinbase, with one of their staff members saying that they were big fans of Peercoin, and had been advocating it behind the scenes. Learn more about it here (http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=2675.0).

#4. A new article from Coindesk (http://www.coindesk.com/survey-results-96-of-merchants-would-recommend-bitcoin-peers/) has shown that Peercoin is among the most popular coins among merchants. The survey showed that 25.88% of altcoin-friendly merchants would consider accepting Peercoin.

#5. If you still haven't updated your client to v0.4 (http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=2473.0), be sure to do it before May 4th as it is a mandatory upgrade.

Nice to read  :) Peershares seems to be almost in testing phase which is great! The peerunity combo client will be very nice for businesses who will issue peershares.

I think it's important to note that Peershsares functionality won't be included in the initial release of Peerunity. That will come when it's done testing and ready to be included. Since public testing is going to start soon, hopefully it won't be too long.

PeerCoin is so far ahead in its area, backbone currency. It will be $100 within 2 years at the lower end. I expect it could overtake BTC in the long term as it is aimed at Big money.
