The 9,000,000DON coins for the American & British Red Cross and the 4,500,000DON for the other supported charities will be exchanged as soon as we can get on an exchange.

Once an exchange is in place, monthly exchanges for FIAT will take place for all supported charities.

I think they mean that the coin will be traded slowly and in small percentages when it hits the exchange not millions being dumped at once lol

We are not going to be "dumping" Donationcoins on the market.

The 9,000,000DON for the American & British Red Cross are held and released in 100K trade volumes.

The further 4,500,000DON will be spread across the 17 other supported charities and again released in 100K trade amounts.

The exchanges will also retain control of the transaction and oversee everything.

Charities will confirm delivery of FIAT.

CharityMiningPools - Donate to Charity while you Mine!

don.charityminingpools.com (http://don.charityminingpools.com) - NOW LIVE!

Come mine while making a difference.

All donations raised during the month of April will go to The Water Project (https://thewaterproject.org/community/profile/charityminingpools)

STRATUM, VARDIFF, Datacenter Redundant Server Farm, Load Balanced Servers, Frequent Backups
0.75% Mandatory Donation fee to The Water Project, 0.75% Pool Fees

Who Are We?
CharityMiningPools was created to allow miners the ability to mine coins while still knowing that their hashing power is going towards something good.  Our goal is to provide a positive and reliable service while delivering a small portion of the proceeds to a deserving recipient.  Plans are in the works to allow individual miners to choose where they would like to donate to based on a pool of available recipients.

How Does This Work?
All coins minded at CharityMiningPools will require a mandatory 0.75% Donation fee.  This donation fee will be collected and donated to the designated charitable recipient for that given month.  Though we only require a minimum 0.75% Donation fee, we welcome and encourage our miners to raise the stakes and donate more to a good cause.

Cheers!
CharityMiningPools

Target timespan: 96 hours

Is it the diff retarget ? If yes, you should really change it for something shorter, KGW at the start is a bad idea but a 96h retarged isn't better, I think. It could kill the coin  :-\

Anyway, I love the concept and I wish you more success with the coin ! If the price goes high you'll be able to make some awesome acts and this will promote digital currencies by a good way  :) (sorry for the english btw)

Difficulty retargets every 2016 blocks and block target time is 4 minutes. In reality it will be more like 10 minutes once things get moving. 96 is a 4 day retarget. Litecoins is 3.5 days. Litecoin seems OK.

It's not a problem for Litecoin because it has a stable hashrate, it's increasing but it doesn't change too much, I'm just afraid to see 1 Gh/sec with a diff of 0.04 or don't know, it's an example  :D A lot of coins, without KGW had a retarget of around 1 to 6 hours, it's better to prevent high hashrate variations you can get when the hashrate is low, like when you launch a coin

This is how we presented the coin to exchanges and mining pools:

Code:
Over the last few months we have been working very secretly and only living off coffee (fairtrade) and cigerettes to produce a new altcoin. The difference with this coin unlike all the new altcoins coming out at the moment is that there is NO amazing new technological advancement but simply a solid basis for it's existence and a good (blows own trumpet) development team.

In total there will be ~90 million Donationcoins and we have premined 20%. 9,000,000 Donationcoins are going to the American & British Red Cross (4.5mil each) another 4,500,000 are being spread evenly across all the other charities listed at http://www.donation-coin.org/supported-charities then 3.5 Million is held by Donationcoin for further upgrades, development of the coin and fundraising efforts.

What about the other 1 Million Donationcoins from the premine?!
Well, Donationcoin wants to Donate 1,000,000 Donationcoins to a charity or cause of the communities choosing via a vote.

Here at Donationcoin we believe in complete transparency.

food for thought ...
might want to look into a second charity pool ...
assuming community's heart is in the right place, charity pool will get all the hash.
eventually leading to more than 50% of network ... causing possible forks.

We have two active Mining Pools which you can access via our website www.donation-coin.org - CharityMiningPools & CoinFreaks

Our Mining Pools are working and paying out just fine. I just tested CharityMiningPools with our account (Donationcoin) and paid out over 3000 coins.

All payouts have to be initiated within your 'Account' section by using your PIN and then you must confirm again via the email that is sent to you for payout to be completed.

If you want support from charityminingpools.com simply contact the user 'CharityMiningPools' through bitcoinforum.org

NJRiot we are not lying.

We also do not control the mining pool.

'CharityMiningPools' does.

We have initiated a payout and it worked.

We have contact 'CharityMiningPools' to find out what is going on and requested he posts his support email and information about what is happening here.

We have also mentioned you are having issues with the pool so he may contact you directly.

Have you tried the second pool CoinFreaks?

No problem. I apologise for the problems you are experiencing.

We are having coins confirmed so it could be an issue with your account.

I have contacted the user 'CharityMiningPools' who is active in this forum.

He should reply soon and assist with any issues your having.

We would like to add that we were not implying that you were lying.

If you would like to head to @Donationcoin on Twitter you will see three screenshots of our mining. The first two show us with confirmed coins prior to our payout. The third screenshot shows our balance after the payout and it contains confirmed and unconfirmed coins.

This makes us believe that this problem is account related.

Hey guys, not sure how it came to us "scamming" and sorry for the late reply but we are far from a scam.  No coins are being stolen.  Our cron job did stop running last night which stop payouts from occurring, but it was restarted and all found blocks and payouts are being processed as I type.  Please don't jump to the Scam solution so quickly.  We have been around since the beginning of 2014 and are legitimate.

If anyone is having problems PM me directly.  I will be getting our support site back online tonight as well.

I apologize for the delay, all blocks will be accounted for and nothing was lost during this time.  Everything was simply backlogged until the cron issue was resolved.  I urge you all to check your accounts and transactions at the earliest convenience.

We apologize again for the issue, and slow response but can assure you that all blocks found during this time are still accounted and are being processed.  No coins were lost and all payouts are still accounted for.

Do you know any other miner who would be interested in this coin.

We are a strong dev team who communicate all day and work on Donationcoin 24/7 as it's our full-time job.

We have had several people contact us wanting to build pools but not many people joining us mining, simply because we are not on an exchange yet.

The value of this coin will be down to the community but also down to the premine control which the charities will have under the advice of Donationcoin.

If you know of any other miners, now is the time to come on board and benefit in the long run as we are here to stay.

This is amazing and we are really happy that there is so much interest in Donationcoin and hope that this trend continues.

*Charity Premine Donation Update*

We have contacted the charities again and have also publicly tweeted to each of them detailing the amount and to doowload the wallet to collect and control their donation.

Do not rush to the exchanges, or the coin could and likely will be pump and dumped which causes good people to lose interest.
As I said in a PM, I've moved my miner over. My suggestion would be to let interest build with time while creating a network to use donationcoin on. Having lots of charities on board is what is key, hold off on some of the donations until the coin has momentum and then do them publicly.

Post by: Donationcoin on April 27, 2014, 11:42:12 AM
Do not panic.  We will not be rushing to ANY exchanges.

We have had people telling us how they will get us on an exchange etc.

We are not authorising this at all and it will not happen.

We are about to announce a very large charity fundraiser involving the selling of Donationcoin for BTC and then the funds will go to the charities involved in the fundraiser.

This will give Donationcoin its market value.

We are also in the middle of building forums for the coin on the website as to have a community base.

We are not rushing to get onto an exchange simply because we'll be announcing the large charity fundraiser within the week which will give Donationcoin it's entry level price on the exchanges.

There is no rush as we are currently communicating with new charities and mining pools.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

New P2Pool UP! http://www.cryptogiving.com (http://www.cryptogiving.com/?project=donationcoin)

  • US Based Server Node
  • World Class Data Center
  • Low Latency = Better P2Pool Mining
  • No Registration
  • Customized Web Interface = Easier Reading and Graphs
  • PPLNS (longer mining = more steady payout)
  • P2Pool means better protection against DDOS attacks on pools. If the pool goes down, your shares are still valid and you'll get paid unlike with regular mining pools
  • No money left in any wallet, unlike regular mining pools. P2Pools leave no coins left in the pool so if a pool goes down, it doesn't take your coins with it.
  • Half of our fees go to Charity. See our donations page for more details

In the nature of P2Pool, if anyone wants to boost the network and run their own p2pool, I've posted my network.py values https://github.com/squiggie/p2pool-rav

Since its a new coin the difficulty is low I suggest mining as much as possible as its worth it when it lands on the exchanges.

Hahah yeah definitely a WTF moment.

Quick question... how is this coin on it's 13000th block with so little mining support? Wasn't it just launched a week ago?

In reply to turtlehurricane,

I do believe you have your information very incorrect. I have everything public and open in this forum. Muiz Rana the only other developer from Donationcoin is not even registered on the site as there is no need for anything but the coin to be registered. We do not need to have alt accounts or personal accounts to promote this coin, enough hard work has gone into this for it to promote itself. Many Thanks,

Muiz Rana is doge-dealer btw, so donationcoin is outright lying that they have no association.

But now a bigger issue has arisen. Spencer Lievens is well known on reddit for being a doge coin scammer. He goes by the name of Konklave: https://www.facebook.com/spencer.lievens

http://www.reddit.com/r/Dogecoinscamwatch/comments/21isuj/scammed_by_ukonklaveuk_for_70k/

http://www.reddit.com/r/Dogecoinscamwatch/comments/21lzny/konklaveuk_is_trying_to_do_a_chargeback_on_a_2673/

He actually had 2 accounts, konklave and konlaveUK, from which he went on a scamming spree and then deleted. He actually asked for donations to help him cause he said he was scammed, and then he scammed everyone again after that.

I have no proof that this is the same Spencer Lievens, but how many Spencer Lievens from the UK are involved in crypto?

Very interesting.

And spencer lievens just deleted the facebook page, it's confirmed! LOL
Oh wow. Between this and the OP/Doge-dealer going silent, I'm going to have to believe you and your claims.

Pulling my rig off this.

Disappointing, really. I'd like to have got in early on a charitable coin.

My personal Facebook - http://facebook.com/slievens.donationcoin
Muiz Rana Personal Facebook - http://facebook.com/muiz.rana

Neither deleted.
A custom URL is made when you create your FB profile and would not likely have the name of your coin in it unless you've been living under a rock and just signed up to FB. Which doesn't seem believable considering the industry you're in.

My address was changed. It was originally s.lievens

But.. you can only modify your username once... https://www.facebook.com/help/www/162586890471598

And as far as I can tell from checking my own account which has only had one username, you can only choose a username once.

I feel that whatever is said at this point will not be good enough turtlehurricane

So I suggest for the miners that trust us please move over to the forum we have linked from our website.

We will continue over there.
I'm not turtlehurricane, I was the second largest rig on your network. Rather than abandoning this, continue to try to prove your innocence. If you're innocent, you'll be able to prove it. Right now everything you've said is able to be picked a part.

LinkedIn profiles?
Reddit profiles?
Twitter accounts?

Right now everything turtlehurricane is saying is looking legit so why should I or anyone else put faith in you?

All donations till now have been transparent and as you can see we are linked to the worlds biggest charities next week 1 of more big charity whos name I cant reveal right now will be added too. If anyone has any false claims against me or my partner I would like to see it here on the open forum as I believe in transparency.

From what I can see this gentlemen s concern hes not interested in the coin or the charity either but using abusive language for no reason in case you have evidence of my partner doing something wrong please show it here and I promise to take legal action against him if not I will be reporting you to the authorities for blaming us for a scam yes that's what you have called us and also fraud.

I hope you understand this coin is strictly for charities and any illegal or fraud activity will be reported to the police department and tax fraud department.

Also in case any person from this thread is interested in me or needs any more information you may add me on skype contact via PM first thanks.

Muiz Rana

Thank you for confirming this. Let's get back to mining.
Are you talking to me? I'm telling you that you can't change your FB URL.

CharityMiningPools - Donate to Charity while you Mine!

don.charityminingpools.com (http://don.charityminingpools.com)

I dont know why you chose to attack this guy. I know him, have dealt with him over the past year and he has never scammed anyone. He HAS however had plenty of butt hurt users who where scammed by other people try to frame him...Seriously, this guys name is Muiz Rana and he has no connection whatsoever to the guy you think scammed you or whoever. I have trusted this guy with large amounts of crypto/money in the past and he never scammed me.

Muiz Rana is one of the devs of the coin and he has absolutely no connections whatsoever to those other guys you think he is. I honestly have no idea why you think he does. That profile could be anyone...including you trying to frame him. Im not accusing you, im just saying that you really dont have any proof that those guys are him, And you shouldnt because he isnt a scammer in any way.

To DonationCoin, DonDev and shrekster:

Stop. TurtleHurricane has supplied proof that this is a scam. You've been caught. Stop.

To any person who actually reads this thread, they'll see it's not worth the risk. Not because they should blindly trust TurtleHurricane, but because the EVIDENCE he's presented is a stronger case against you than your defense of "that's not me".

You are actively trying to cause confusion by acting like TurtleHurricane is speaking to someone else. He has directly addressed every question you have asked of him, where you have not. You have simply offered up easy-to-fake answers. If you, DonationCoin, can explain why the page YOU linked [https://www.facebook.com/slievens.donationcoin] shows the name of the scammer you're accused of being?

You can not deny that your page has that one it. There is no photoshop. I am on Facebook.com looking at your profile that you linked. This one:
https://www.facebook.com/slievens.donationcoin

It DOES say Konklave. That is who you were originally accused of being. The accuser has offered plenty of evidence and you have not proven him wrong. Quit acting like people should just blindly trust you.

I would like to mention that no one has explained how 13k blocks were mined in a week when in the 4 days I was mining we didn't even break 1000 blocks.

Message from Tomatocage:

I'm getting a little tired of babysitting every little argument that comes up. DonDev & Donationcoin, kill the thread about turtlehurricane. Turtlehurricane, stop polluting Donationcoin's threads since it appears they've actually put forth some honest effort into this thing. Once this is done, I'll remove any negative trust and yall can start with a clean slate.

Regards,
TC
