Title: Multipool mines multiple algorithms (Scrypt-N, Grøstl, Skein, SHA3, XPM, etc.)
Post by: bt2084 on April 21, 2014, 04:44:05 PM
Are there any multipools specializing in alternative or hybrid algorithms?

I'm talking about a pool -- and specific miner setup directions -- that would direct my GPU's to mine whatever hybrid (or likely other non-Scrypt) coin is most profitable?

I am honestly surprised no one has done this yet, and hoping I am just ignorant of a pool activity which already does it.

What I'm hoping for is a pool that would look at all sorts of alt coins -- e.g. XPM – Primecoin QRK – Quark SRC – Securecoin Nxt – Next YAC – Yacoin SKN – Skeincoin PTS – Protoshares DRK – DarkCoin MYR – MyriadCoin Curecoin OFF – Offerings to Cthulhu MED – MediterraneanCoin HTC – Huitongbi PGC – Pangucoin -- and also even the tradition scrypt coins... and direct my machine to mine as is ideal.

Even more ideally, the mining pool would take a benchmark of my machine upon starting to determine what sort of CPU, GPU power and RAM capacity is available and then direct even CPU coins as is profitable.

Is there any reason this sort of idea can't happen?

A guy posting in this thread has the same idea... hope it can happen soon.

I have had the same ideas, It would also be kind of neat if the pools could signal/hint the type of algorithm used in the pool. That way we could have multipools mining different algorithms (scrypt-jane/scrypt/adaptive-scrypt/etc..), using one single miner...
