Title: Good CPU/GPU mining software Post by: niggahigga on April 22, 2014, 05:17:55 PM Hello,
until recently I have only heard about bitcoin mining and haven't tried it, myself. I tried to find a software program that would allow me to "mine" with my CPU and/or GPU, but so far I have had no luck. That is why I decided to ask you for help. Yes, I know it is not profitable, please do not point it out or try to tell me that I should not do it, I know all that, but still I want to try! :) So if you would kindly direct me to a software that can mine using my CPU AND GPU, I would be very grateful. :) Title: Re: Good CPU/GPU mining software Post by: Equate on April 22, 2014, 05:23:14 PM You can use cgminer to mine scrypt algos . There is also sgminer which can mine different algos.

The rest of the miners have removed either one or both of these features. Title: Re: Good CPU/GPU mining software Post by: niggahigga on April 23, 2014, 03:27:29 PM Thank you for the information!
I have downloaded BFGminer 3.10.0, but I am having trouble operating it. Could someone tell me what I have to do to make it work? So far it's just a console window with options to add devices, settings, etc. Man, I just can't get this post to post! Just need to find a pool and create a .bat file. Really easy Title: Re: Good CPU/GPU mining software Post by: Moedas :D igitais on April 29, 2014, 01:24:38 PM Hello, until recently I have only heard about bitcoin mining and haven't tried it, myself. Its based on cpuminer, just with a different layout. Easy to download, easy to install and easy to use. Please note this miner throw false positives with the anti-virus. Support is friendly and you can choose a variety of coins to mine (BTC, LTC, PPC, NMC and of course much DOGE). The website is (my user/ref link): https://www.eobot.com/user.aspx?id=23840 Without ref: https://www.eobot.com Also, just recently a "browser miner" was lauched for the wow DOGE, much fun :) It uses CPU or GPU to mine online! At the moment its only DOGE... The website is (my ref link): http://suchminer.com/?shibe_guide=DCYFinHXer4YA68x9kTvh3qY5cN9QP6FaJ Without ref: http://suchminer.com Maybe this could be an option... I use both, with different PCs as I can't afford 6000 USD miners... Some quick math. If the math is wrong let me know. You have 1 MH scrypt and 3 MH x11 (These should be roughly equivalent 1:3 scrypt:x11) BTC/MH/Day Scrypt - .004 BTC/MH/Day, 1000 watts, $0.13 power cost. x11 - .003 BTC/MH/Day, 500 watts, $0.13 power cost. Baseline price of $450 per btc With all things equal this comes out to be a cost of $3.12 per day for the scrypt machine, $1.56 per day with the x11 machine. Take your 0.004*450=$1.80 made from scrypt, whereas you would make 0.003*450=$1.35 with x11. Take out your power cost for the day and you are left with Scrypt = loss of $1.32 x11 = loss of $0.21 Overall it looks like neither are profitable at such low amounts of BTC/MH/Day but x11 comes out ahead simply because of the decrease in power consumption. Really easy If you wanna CPU mine something, go for Magi. It's the most driven and supported of the CPU-only mining communities. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.0 Title: Re: Good CPU/GPU mining software Post by: NoobKidOnTheBlock on November 24, 2014, 05:59:18 PM A good CPU miner http://sourceforge.net/projects/cpuminer/ How well does this CPUminer work? and what algos does it support?Just need to find a pool and create a .bat file.
