Title: Potential New Bitcoin Ventures Post by: Gluskab on April 14, 2011, 12:44:02 AM Hi All,
I'm chronicling my attempt, from beginning to end, to form a small team and start a Bitcoin business here: http://practicalagorism.com/2011/04/14/bitcoin-ventures-and-upside-potential/ This is the initial, get my feet wet, throw around a bunch of ideas and find out where the greatest need/demand is that I'll be able to satisfy with whatever team I'm able to form/join (even if it ends up being just me). Anyway, I'd appreciate any input, and I'm excited to get to work on one of the projects I listed on my post. Cheers Title: Re: Potential New Bitcoin Ventures Post by: N12 on April 14, 2011, 01:03:32 AM Nice to see some ambition. :D I’ll leave feedback on some ventures.
Quote Bitcoin Futures and Options Exchange No clue on the current situation.Quote Bitcoin Lottery Already done, see http://www.bitlotto.com/ and http://taabl.datlatec.com/.Quote Bitcoin Casino Be sure to check https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade#Gambling_sites. I think there’s great potential here for a nice real gambling application though.Quote Bitcoin Escrow and Arbitration Service There’s https://clearcoin.appspot.com/ and it’s in good (Gavin’s) hands.Quote Bitcoin Stock Exchange Will be released soon by Nefario.Quote Bitcoin iPhone App Absolutely, whether that be a wallet or just a Bitcoin based game. Search the forums for already existing attemps though, I think I saw something recently. It’d be better to join up instead of having two projects imo.Quote KickStarter for Bitcoin I think the stock market would suffice for the current needs.Quote Bitcoin Bank and/or Credit Union That is pretty huge, but if you can do it, go for it. Bank would be essentially an ewallet, right? Make sure to check mybitcoin.com in this case.Quote Bitcoin Credit Ratings There’s http://bitcoin-otc.com/, but integration with social networks would definitely be nice.Quote Bitcoin Bond Market Good idea, there’s certainly demand for an automated solution at the moment, although I think that will be covered by the upcoming stock market, too.Quote Bitcoin Shopping Cart and Business Solutions This is needed the most in my opinion. Merchants are still having trouble setting Bitcoin up.Title: Re: Potential New Bitcoin Ventures Post by: bitlotto on April 14, 2011, 01:26:06 AM Quote Bitcoin Lottery Already done, see http://www.bitlotto.com/ and http://taabl.datlatec.com/.Beat me to it! ;D Title: Re: Potential New Bitcoin Ventures Post by: Gluskab on April 14, 2011, 01:50:06 AM Thanks a lot for the input.
From what you said, I'm probably leaning toward either the casino or the Options/Futures Exchange. I would also be willing to work on a Merchant/Business solutions, but I would definitely want to be working with at least a couple other people for any of these projects. I'm also not opposed to jumping into an existing project, but it doesn't make quite as nice of a multi-post narrative if I don't go from start to finish in a project. :P Title: Re: Potential New Bitcoin Ventures Post by: Syncopate on May 17, 2011, 11:07:28 PM Hi, I came across this post on Google, and decided to register. I'd be game for helping develop an online bitcoin casino - Possibly we could use/edit this platform, since it's open source and free. I'd like to make an online casino which is strictly bit coins, I think we should have it invite only at first, to keep it mostly "hidden" at the start. I'd suggest we host online poker at first since we wouldn't have to pony up much initial start up money and we can't lose a large amount of bitcoins - ie Roulette/Blackjack etc. Since poker is player vs player it's much more feasible.
http://www.pokerth.net/styles-gallery.html <-- website to opensource poker.. If anyone is interested, maybe we can chat a bit and start a development team, currently i'm unemployed and sick with mono so i've got plenty of free time on my hands.. although I don't have any instant messenger at the moment, so PM's over this forum will suffice until we've made some decisions. |
