Title: Exchange volume Post by: rotrott on January 12, 2012, 12:14:55 AM Why are the highest volume exchanges for the US dollar? I would have expected some of the European currency exchanges to be trading at high volumes as well. Would mtgox USD be at around 4k if it weren't for the high frequency trades?

Most europeans are willing to pay the conversion fee just to trade in the market with the greatest volume. That is the same reason why the other exchanges don't have much volume.
