Wait, have you been paying attention for the past four years?  For that matter, for the last 20?

If SOPA passes they should arrest me before they pass it.... That's one law I won't tolerate

Yeah I have, there have been many laws that have been passed since 9/11 that I don't agree with 100%. I try to be in the middle as much as possible, because sometimes safety requires us to give up some of our most basic freedoms. I am ok with that... But SOPA sounds like a DANGEROUS bill, since freedom of speech is the biggest weapon people have against the establishment, and once that's taken away all bets are off...

This is one of those bills that I would vehemently protest against.

Eve I look at everything from a real world perspective.
The security put in place on 9/11 has prevented countless deaths/terrorist attacks in the U.S.A. I think that's a good thing.. Now stopping people from speaking their mind freely on the Internet. That's a completely different story, and actually directly violates the U.S constitution...

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you live in a State that has highly restrictive gun laws and you also feel those are put in place to prevent countless deaths.  I could be wrong, it's a long shot...but let me know broham.

9/11 was the worst thing to happen to America. Not because it killed 3,000 people, they don't matter IMO, but because the government became paranoid and unable to function profitably due to massive defense bills thereafter

I'm with you guys. This abomination called SOPA (and its other guises-PROTECT IP) must be stopped. What am I going to do as a person? Refuse to blog from 8am til 6pm as well as refuse to conduct any kind of business and will also refuse to conduct business over the internet, other than checking my emails (due to work requirements in UK).These actions will all take place on 18/1/2012.

This thng needs to stop.I wrote a blog post about the need to stop SOPA here: http://film2240.wordpress.com/2012/01/09/articlesopa-how-will-this-affect-us-and-the-internet-as-we-know-it. (http://film2240.wordpress.com/2012/01/09/articlesopa-how-will-this-affect-us-and-the-internet-as-we-know-it.)

I'm inviting you all to comment and voice your opinions on SOPA on the article linked above as well,as I feel this is far too important to ignore.Don't worry if your comments don't show straight away, the comments simply go through a brief process of moderation (really meant to deter spammers and will not affect the right to expression on my blog.).So feel free to voice your opinions, there is also a link to the Whitehouse petition via my article to help you guys vote no on the SOPA proposal.

If you run Wordpress on any of your sites they have some plugins already made to setup the blackout automatically and to show support against SOPA. Makes it easy for lazy peoples.
