One of my friends also operate a fuel dispenser. He says that almost 50% of his profits are eaten up by the VISA / Master service charges. (the profit margin is just 4-5% and the CC service charges a 2% service fee).

That's a very unique place to use btc.
The sheer number of gas transaction on a daily basis could save stations untold amount of money not having to deal with the credit card cut.

Great market for BTC.
I'm really happy to see this being developed.  :)

My only concern is the transaction time. You know.... fuel depots are very crowded sometimes, and they need to process the payments very quickly. Well... if they don't wait for confirmations, then there won't be any problem.

In all the European countries I know you just start pumping and after you filled completely up you walk inside the shop to the cashier and pay afterwards. If you don't, they have your license plate number on CCTV.
