Title: Ask the Hare Krishna to accept BTC?
Post by: Bit_Happy on April 25, 2014, 01:28:26 AM
Some people think BTC is a cult, and a number of people think we are crazy.
What harm could there be if we get a genuine crazy cult to accept BTC?  :D

What do you think?

edit:
ps. Here is a church that accepts BTC:

May be large enough in Russia, but definitely minuscle in Germany. I hate these people, always singing and dancing, wasting time. They should do some productive work rather than doing all this BS. But that said, I will have to agree that they are a very harmless group of people, when compared to some of the other sects and religions.

Yes, they are "harmless and annoying".
When they come up to you in airports to ask for money, their orange robe could have a QR code for easy BTC donations.
Something bold and "pushy", like this:

OK... no probs with that. But rather than annoying the people who are busy to catch their flights, the Hare Krishna monks can just advertise their QR codes on the hallways and the counters. And I think they will get more donations if they can put up QR code stickers near the long queues where people wait to get their boarding passes.  ;D

Just one question why it make no sense to me to donate moneyBTC to churches or other similar Religious places..! the mantra of
" Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare "   was so holy but now it appears like they are running business out of it.

Up to you what you do with your money but I've made it a rule never to give money to people who would harass people just trying to go about their lives in the streets or in their homes, we have a serious problem with charity collectors here in the UK.

Not only in UK This problem exists in almost every country..! The amount of money donated to Religious places here in India is too damn high..! i mean few small countries budget is lower than what few Temples get in donations..!

Yes... they have declined in popularity quite steeply. During the 1970s and 1980s, the Hare Krishna movement was quite big in the US/ EU. And the decline there was neutralized by a growth in the CIS region during the 1990s. However, since the start of this century, they have been declining constantly in almost all the regions and countries, perhaps with the exception of India.

Nah.  It might get us in the wacky segment of the news for a few seconds, but BTC is well-known enough that it's not worth it.

The Hare Krishna movement also used to get more visible bad publicity about actively recruiting young people into their cult.
A free meal and some chat can be a big start getting into someones head.

Look at their spread in Russia and Ukraine. They are having some 30 temples in Russia, including those in major cities such as Moscow. Once they were active even in Iran, but were forced to flee the country after the Islamic revolution.

Not only in India, but almost everywhere in the world does people donate money to churches and other religious establishments. By volume, the largest donors might be from the US. Unfortunately, a small part of these funds are diverted to fanatical organizations such as the New Tribes Mission (NTM) which hunts down tribal people from forests to convert them to Christianity.

They will eventually want to know why their BTC keeps going up while paper money goes lower.
Then their minds are (partially) open(ed) and some of them will want to learn.  :)

Both are the same. Hare Krishna is the popular name, while International Society for Krishna Consciousness is the official name. Lord Krishna is the name of their supreme god.
