Widespread, reasonably mainstream adoption has to start somewhere.  The shady world of strip joints looks like as good a place as any for Bitcoin.

I don't know whether Bitpay or Coinbase will accept requests from strip clubs. In Colorado, they have already decided against cooperating with the stores which are selling legalized recreational Marijuana.

Yes but in Colorado there is a Marijuana vending machine which accepts Bitcoins.....

Well I wouldn't rule it out but not sure if that is gonna happen as soon as you suspect Phinnaeus Gage.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see but I think there is potential for this down the line for sure.

People shouldn't mind when you have those vending machines. I do however think that they should accept requests from strip clubs. There is nothing wrong with that, is there?

It's the chargebacks.

Processing payments for the adult entertainment industry is a specialised sector when we're talking mainstream payment methods, because of the extreme amount of chargebacks involved.

That is, if you run a porn site or strip club you can't just integrate PayPal or Stripe or Worldpay or whatever. They won't touch you. You need to go to specialist payment providers. Similar (but not as bad) for other sectors like gambling.

So I am not surprised that Bitpay takes that stance.

In any case there is so much money in adult entertainment that I don't see why they would find it difficult to hire a consultant to set their payment system up to directly use Bitcoin and cash out to fiat by itself if necessary.

 I don't know will all strip clubs worldwide soon be accepting bitcoin or not, but it seems to be not a bad idea

Well, bitcoin is independent right? But now i see that means alot of illegal stuff can be done manipulating with bitcoins, i hope It'll need some kind of laws for bitcoin..

I doubt this will happen, bitcoin has been around for a while now and interest just seems to be very low.

Vending machines are OK.... but a full scale adoption might have been better.

Talking about strip clubs, yes they are legal. But they sort of operate within the grey sector as far as the legality is concerned.

Bitcoin would help strip clubs with chargebacks. One can call their credit card company and say they didn't make the charges, they can't call their bitcoin wallet and demand their bitcoins be refunded.

I understand your point but I don't think your taking into consideration that people have not been getting the full story about BTC from the media.  There will be a time when people can't ignore the benefits of using Bitcoins and we will see a mad rush of users IMO.

When I read the subject of this thread I was thinking something totally different.  I was thinking about the girls not the club owner. Someone should make QR stencils or temporary tattoos. Dancers could put one on a butt cheek or inner thigh and take bitcoin tips just like cash. That would be cool. When you think about it, it must be actually pretty gross for a girl to have nasty dirty bills between her tits and tucked into a g-string.

its actually great, girls can have bitcoin codes on there privates or any sexy part of there body right, so no more throwing cash around the place.

So they will just force the company to refund the person in USD, or force them to send back BTC if the guy paid in BTC.

Yes, that's what this entire thread is about, and I agree. However, I was responding to why Bitpay doesn't allow strip clubs etc. as clients. You can't chargeback a Bitpay payment but I still think they don't want the hassle of handling payments for a sector with a high proportion of disputed transactions.

if thats gonna happen a lot of male bitcoiner will go to strip club often :D

You say interest is low. But compared to what? Once upon a time (2011 I think), the only thing you could buy with bitcoin was alpaca socks. As of Q2 2014, I use bitcoin for everything I buy on amazon. Interest has been increasing and will continue to increase exponentially until it saturates, and we are not even close to saturation.
