why I cant my avatar, and when it will be possible do so ?

As I see always an information:
Perhaps one day will come and we will be able to change our avatar again :D

It has been disabled for quite some time, and I heard it will only be re-enabled after we have the new forum sofeware.

Yes but I am not able to change avatar since I joined this forum, and its already almost 1 year ... well we need to wait.

Some kind of virus attack was made on the forum via avatars and the way they are integrated in the system is the best way I can explain it.  It's has been deemed safer to leave this feature off for the time being is my understanding.  This question has been asked recently in this sub forum and elsewhere and answered I should add.

Oh reallly ? :x I wonder how virus can attack via avatars .... but Im not programmer so as I see it is possible :P So we can only wait and hope they will re-enable avatars.

Its not like that I would kill myself if I wont have avatar, Im just curious because this is first forum I know, which has banned avatars :P

I heard that by allowing avatars uploads, hackers can upload maliciuous code as image files and some how run that code to access the database. I think they once offered standard imges for members to choose from, but disabled the whole avatar function at the end.
