Title: How many IPO's on here that has made ROI from dividends?
Post by: fourhundredapm on April 28, 2014, 12:51:46 AM
I understand some people making money by flipping shares.. but what im wondering about is how many companies have given a profit to shareholders in terms of dividends?

Wonder how much profit was generated from 1 bitcoin worth of investment at the start of the IPO..

IPO was 0.1/share and ASICMiner has paid 0.6146 BTC a share so far. It would be about 6.1 BTC earned if you've held shares since IPO for 1 BTC spent. For their first year of operations, they averaged about 0.01/share a week.

A lot of them have been profitable in fiat terms...which means investors would have been better off holding their Bitcoin than investing in a "company".

This announcement on CryptoStocks shows FAS also would be one who has returned the full ROI via dividends... and in less than 3 months no less.

In approx 7 days (april 28th) , we will have paid out 10 BTC in dividends.  On that day, anyone who invested in the IPO and held their shares, will have received 100% of their original investment back.  These shares were released on Feb 8th, 2014.  that will be ~80 days or less.

I bought shares of cryptsy - some at the ipo price of .05 and some below that price starting on November 08. I just added up the total dividends/share since then, the total is .0008334244.
So if you bought shares at the ipo price of .05 your ROI since 11/8 would be 16.67%. But the share price is over three times the ipo price now so if you cashed out now it would be a pretty good overall trade. I'm keeping my shares though. I believe the future for the company is bright.

FAS or fasbit that his username is here on bitcointalk can't count. When he made that statement FAS had returned 43% and now they have returned 46% to those that has been invested from day 1 in the FAS stock. There "Ponzi or no Ponzi" factor(total BTC returned/total BTC invested) is 17.29%, thats better than some stocks and worse than others.
