You can find all of the bitcoin private keys in the database. No joke, all of the priavte keys are in the database. You may want to try to find some valuable address here, but I would say that it will be as hard as to search a needle in the sea.  ;)

This database can't show the total amount of bitcoin private keys, but it shows the total pages - 904625697166532776746648320380374280100293470930272690489102837043110636675 pages totally. Still an amazing number!!!

I still think bitcoin is strong and secure. What about you?

This database owner's purpose is to prove that bitcoin is secure, public, strong and transparency. That's it. If you know bitcoin deeply, you will get the answer.

This is the bitcoin philosophy - transparency but secure even the nowadays bank system can't make it.

You are missing the core of bitcoin. I am not a coder, but I trust it. I hope the core dev can explain this in an easy way.

In simple words: Whoever has a private key has access to the Bitcoins attached to that private key (and related public address).

So:
If those private keys belong to the poster, it is not secure for the poster.
If those private keys belong to some other people, it is not secure for those other people.

Is it complicated to understand or am I wrong here?

P.S. : Probably all of those addresses have 0 balances and 0 transactions, so I'm not getting into 'theft' part. What I'm concerned about is how this database came into possession of someone on the internet if it is not his own.

Bitcoin private keys are just some huge numbers (256 bits) and any 256-bit number between "0x1" and "0xFFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFE BAAE DCE6 AF48 A03B BFD2 5E8C D036 4141" is a valid private key.

To those who want to get all private keys, it is extremely easy. :D
Take a notebook, write down "1", "2", "3", up to "115792089237316195423570985008687907852837564279074904382605163141518161494337".

The site lists 128 keys per page. Multiplying that to the number of pages it claims gives the following number:

How close is this number to all Bitcoin addresses that can ever be generated?

I am trying to find out if the poster tried to generate ALL Bitcoin addresses that can ever be generated. And if yes, how well did he succeed?

Not really. Though the private keys are 256 bits, there are only 2^160 addresses.

My guess is that the creator only spam generated a few thousand address and fake the amount of address. Its practically not possible to bruteforce a private key.

For a valid private key, it is always associated with a bitcoin address.
But, there are many different valid private keys that can lead to the same address.

Total number of valid bitcoin private key: slightly less than 2^256
Total number of valid bitcoin address: 2^160

Now that is impressive, god damn.

That's 78 decimal digits. So the only way the poster's claim is wrong is that either the site does not have UNIQUE keys (keys are duplicated every few pages) or they're not valid keys after all.

I don't know if the site really list all private keys out.

But as I have said earlier, it is extremely easy to generate all possible valid private keys by just going from 1, 2, 3, onwards.
So, there are nothing special about the site, even if it does list all private keys out.

as for all of these sites, the keys shown are generated when the page is requested by a visitor.
There is no "database" of generated keys and there is no way to get the key of a specific bitcoin address (since that would require the whole database of private keys up front).

The thing that makes private keys so 'secure' is the shear number of them(in a given set), but by the same measure, if you are very very lucky then  somewhere in your handful of sand is potentially a valuable  'private key'  belonging to an active address holding coin. (you just need to find which one)
Which is why it is good practice to continually 'rotate' your addresses, since it adds to the entropy of  'publicity known' addresses an attacker would need to check his 'sand' against.( if it was a brute force attack)

The author removed the private key search function to avoid to be considered as a scammer. Don't expose your private key publicly, your bitcoin will be safe.

I can still see a search option in http://key.btc123.com/. One should be careful. Its a honey trap.

That option is searched by page, not private key. You can go through any pages if you want.

Of course, this is a database of all possible outcomes of private key strings. A few lines of computer code can generate that in minutes. It's so simple. Nothing new.

Similarly, one can also generate all possible outcomes of public keys quite easily.

For a computer programmer/developer, this stuff is the easiest.

The real achievement is that

If debit card pin codes are 6 digits long then one can easily generate and publish all the pin codes of all the debit cards in the world in minutes i.e. by generating the all digits from 000000-999999 and doing that is so much easy. But real part is finding out which pin belongs to which debit card.

Similarly finding a match between a Bitcoin private-key and its public-key is next to impossible!

Even if the pages of keys are addressable directly via the URL, use of something like Google Analytics might give the site owner an inkling of which pages a user's private key was on.

I personally wouldn't go near it.

If they store 1 bytes per page, they need
8,22752E+62 PETA Byte to store the whole database.

This is a scam, and whatever key you put in their input textbox surely recorded.

I am pretty sure once you enter a real private key into that text box at the top of the page and submit the form back to the server your private key will be stored in some database. ;D

It is not the scam. Just a black humor to prove how bitcoin is secured by Mathematics.

The search text input is for searching Page Number ONLY.
We have cancelled the private search text input in case people think that we will record the private key people entered.
And we also write on the page very CLEAR that :

This Chinese sentence means : You should NEVER expose or search your private key at any circumstance at any time.

Many people learned the philosophy of bitcoin after seeing this page, and they say, at first they are worried, but after seeing the page number, they can put their heart into their stomach and go to sleep peacefully. They say:  yeah my private key is just in these pages, just take it if you can find it.

Pretty interesting and amazing, isn't it?

It's not joke as I used to copy some private key to test out. It shows the same address. At this moment, number is no important but management as one day, It will be cracked as tools are designed to be cracked.

Whatever the author does, He just tells us if you don't follow the suggestions, then your precious may be stolen silently.

It is scam.

For example,
1) I visit page http://key.btc123.com/134384732473xxxxxxxxxxx294732473247968546 and import one of private keys on it to my wallet
2) I transfer some bitcoins to the address of this private key
3) You see the number 134384732473xxxxxxxxxxx294732473247968546 in your server logs and import ALL private keys from this page
4) Now you are able to steal my bitcoins. Profit!

The site NEVER suggest visitor do so and NEVER guide visitor to do sth like this. It just list all the private keys in the key space.
The site has a warning on it : NEVER expose or search your private key at any circumstance at any time. And this also means, if a private key is exposed, then NEVER use it.

If we can benifit from this site, it is that this site increases the visiting users for site btc123.com, and in some extend advertises the new block explorer : b.btc123.com

I don't agree that this is FAKE. It is true. All the data is true. And a database doesn't have to store all the data if it can just display the data which the user requests. Besides, in a database not all the fields can be indexed and searched.

It isn't a database. Using your (very loose) definition Google or Yahoo is a database of the entire internet (though they are closer to being so than your website). You're just using a sensationalist title to drive traffic to your website.

That's what private keys are - just very long numbers.

Ownership of a bitcoin address is the result of the fact that out of a very, very, very large set of possible private keys, you have picked one in particular.

The public key (and hence the bitcoin address) is very easy to calculate from the private key, but the reverse is not true. Indeed, the only known way to get the private key of a given bitcoin address is to try *all* private keys until you find one that matches this particular bitcoin address. This requires enough computing power to boil the Sun as the now famous graphic illustrates.

Because only you know what that private key is, no one else can generate a valid transaction with the coins sent to that public address.

Put another way, what you actually "own" is the knowledge of the particular private key can be used to sign transactions for your bitcoin address. It's like knowing the location of a treasure buried underground on an unimaginably vast plains. Everyone has "access" to the entire prairie, but without knowing the exact spot, no one can access your treasure, because it would take many millions of years of exhaustive digging.

Therefore, we can conclude that each page is being generated by an algorithm, not from a database.

Therefore, it's most likely an attempt at Bitcoin theft.

Not that it is really going to make that much difference
A database is not 'magic' even with compression there can be a significant overhead in just storing the data, (record structure,pointers,indexes,disk headers etc)

Even if you don't need to store 16k of data per page……. just the secret key…..
we all know (hopefully) that the public address can be re-generated from the secret key via an algorithm otherwise what is the point…..

A better way is going to be  extract all addresses from block chain,  sort them( plus date first used), then use a stat algo to see if there is any grouping, finally generate private keys see if it is in the 'range' of the grouping .. if so..  store for later. ( you require the blockchain rather than generate on your own kit as this would not highlight platform/implementation weaknesses in the systems)
