Title: Stolen Bitcoin Registry
Post by: ellegi on April 28, 2014, 12:07:54 PM
Hi all,
i created this website: www.stolenbitcoinregistry.com (http://www.stolenbitcoinregistry.com)

The purpose is to submit theft event, in order to track stolen coins and to help other people to avoid the same mistake.

Having historical data of theft obviously will not help you to rescue your coins, but it is like to report your stolen car at police station.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

Good luck with your project, but many of them just break the transactions using coin mixing or any techniques, how can they get rescued?

Submitting case in police station atleast gives a hope that the car will be recovered, but once bitcoin is lost, it is 100% non recoverable.

The purpose is not to recover money, but to report. For statistical informations, or to track for example chrome malware extensions. You search for a specific address and you know that you are infected.

You would need to improve that somehow tx ID is not enough but good luck with your project.
