If you have a PC with a powerful video card (Radeon 58xx, 68xx, or 69xx) you can download one of the free mining software packages (a popular one for Windows is GUIMiner), set up a free account at one of the mining pools, and start 'mining'. How much bitcoins can you make? Not much, unfortunately, but that depends on your video card. Keep in mind that your electricity costs can eat up a lot of your mining profits.
