Title: Exchange war: comparison of crypto-exchanges
Post by: Dâniel Fraga on April 29, 2014, 02:17:31 AM
I did a table to compare some crypto-exchanges (updated every 10 minutes). It includes volume, fees, number of pairs traded, fund methods etc.

http://exchangewar.info/

I'll keep adding more exchanges. I hope you enjoy it ;)

It's a great idea! I can see you're showing Last updated at the site - how often do you update data? I assume this is for the Volume (24h) column?

Thanks! It's updated every 10 minutes. Yes, it's for the volume, but most of the crypto-pairs are updated automatically too ;)

Yes, every single API. It's a lot of work, since there's a lot of differences between APIs
and there're some bad-designed APIs out there, which makes everything more complicated.

i know :D i also have to fight with them every day. exchange change APIs without notification, move to HTTPS, give back completely wrong data because of a bug....... endless story.

Hi! Can you add goc.io ?
Some info:
(JSON)
https://goc.io/api/btc_rur/ticker/  ("vol"- volume in rur, "vol_cur" - volume in btc)
https://goc.io/api/ltc_rur/ticker/   ("vol"- volume in rur, "vol_cur" - volume in ltc)
https://goc.io/api/ltc_btc/ticker/   ("vol"- volume in btc, "vol_cur" - volume in ltc)

API gives weekly volume(not daily).

Fee 0.2%

Fiat: RUR
1) Bank account
2) Visa/MasterCard
3) Qiwi
4) Ukash
5) Webmoney
6) Yandex.Money
7) Cash(in Moscow)

Bitcointalk announcement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=503501.0

Thanks in advance!

Hi! Can you add goc.io ?

Hi! Yes, but isn't it possible to return in the ticker the last 24h volume too (maybe with a volume24h field in the ticker)? It would
be easier. If it is not possible, then I can get the 24h volume through trade history.

I asked the support. I will post their answer in this thread(As soon as I get an answer)

Update: support said they will add 24h volume in a couple of days. I will post here when it will be ready.

Site is awesome man, I really appreciate all the time and effort you must have put into it. I'm currently working on a section for my site about buying BTC, i.e. the different methods of obtaining it, what exchanges are trustworthy, etc. I will definitely include a link to your site though, as it has more comparison info. than I could ever hope to include on there, all in real-time too. Nice job!

P.S.- It is so refreshing to see a Bitcoin favicon that is not the orange BTC or the gold coin BTC  ;)

Hi! Can you add goc.io ?

Goc.io added ;) Since they don't provide the 24h volume, I had to use the trade history, but it is limited
to the last 100 trades. For now it's ok, but i'm afraid that if there's more than 100 trades in the last 24h
some of them will be missing.

I sent an e-mail to Gog.io about this. Let's see if they answer.

We have changed our primary domain and the API URLs will be changing:

FROM:  https://exchange.bitcoin.co.th/api/

TO:      https://bx.in.th/api/

The old URL will continue to work, but at some point in the future we will depreciate it, so whenever you get a chance if you could change the API URL that you using that would be great. (No urgency)

Are you chinese fans?
Even Coinbase & LakeBTC is not in the ranking.

more, there is something wrong, the Vircurex is not in Beijing China that was made mistakes by a chinese news report, and it's already over.

and and and, what are the rankings based on?
bitstamp should be top 3, the majority of china exchange trading volume are all lies, just a number //

You should add this site: pln.bitcurex.com (https://pln.bitcurex.com/)
Has been around for over a year.

I never heard about LakeBTC, but I added it ;). Coinbase it isn't really is an exchange (they don't even provide the volume traded in the API).

So Vircurex is located where?

Ps: if the chinese volumes are lies or not, there's no way to proof it and people use the exchanges if they want (nobody is forced to use any exchange ;).

good job!
But the ranking is only according to the 24 hour volume? unconvincing..
Suggest to add a user rating plugin, allowing users to exchange rate...

ps: a few exchanges in countries with error, you could put a question mark if not sure, and should be given a link to the source.

Thanks but what exchanges are with wrong country? Just name it ;).

Ps: the volume is reported by each exchange. A user rating plugin would be possible, but also could be manipulated by fake users. "Voting" with your money
in exchanges is better (although the exchange can manipulate the volume too...).

Thanks! For now I select only the most relevant news manually, but I'm searching for a way to use some feed. The problem is that the feed
may or may not select the most relevant news :).

Hi! Thanks for the suggestion. I already added it ;). I have only 3 doubts:

1) the trade fee starts with 0.3% right?
https://upbit.org/en/faq#qE

2) are you from Cyprus? Or Russia?

3) how do I get the affiliate code? I couldn't find it:
https://upbit.org/en/affilate/

I consider only the cryptopairs, so it will show just 15 pairs, ok?

Thanks.

And we are from Cyprus :)

I added a new column ("Recommended") where anyone can vote on your favorite exchange with just
a symbolic value of 0.001 BTC (about $ 0.35).

The idea is to help everyone to choose the best exchanges while also help me to maintain the site.

Thank you!

Great site and I see you got your first votes. :) Good job!
First thing that struck me was the fee of Virwox. 2.9% per transaction :o You can forget day trading.

Thanks ;) Yes, Virwox is too expensive. For those using Virwox because of Paypal, there're other alternatives like Cryptonit, Usecryptos etc.

I have a suggestion to you, for each exchange, your content too little, perhaps you need to write a separate review page for some of major exchanges, this will be good for your site's SEO

Just like

  • Bitstamp Review: http://exchangewar.info/review/bitstamp
  • BTC-e Review: http://exchangewar.info/review/btc-e
  • Bitfinex Review: http://exchangewar.info/review/bitfinex
  • LakeBTC Review: http://exchangewar.info/review/lakebtc

 ;)
