Post by: Cryptogirl82 on April 29, 2014, 11:01:49 AM
The title of this thread says it all. So who do you think it was?

P.S. don't say Mark Karpeles cause he was never in this forum.

Alberto Armandi

Forum (possibly operated more than one account): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=60475
Twitter: https://twitter.com/albertoarmandi
LinkedIn: http://hk.linkedin.com/pub/alberto-armandi/11/a74/b27

Alleged Italian from Carbonia (Sardinia), current location unknown (maybe HK).

Alleged serial scammer, illegally obtaining several thousand BTC, very likely far above 10k BTC ("bitdaytrade"/"labcoin"-heists and others). Involvement in at least one other alleged scam before bitcoin.

Still not brought to justice.

That list is only for big scammers, and you can find a dozen of scam attempts every day (mainly in lending section).

Pirateat40 was who I first thought of as well, but you also should adjust for the USD figure as well.  The bitcoins pirate stole were worth a lot less than the ones that Mt. Gox "lost".

While https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=576337 attempts to do this, it notes it is outdated.

Stay safe.

OP is looking for scammers (eg pirateat40), not services that were hacked.

There's a difference between a service that was hacked (which is something that can happen even if you place great importance on the security), and a scammer.

Hey TradeFortress,
I'm still trying to settle something with you regarding funds that I lost when Inputs.io was hacked. Can you please PM me so we can work something out? I would really appreciate a response of some sort.
Thanks.

Most likely sold. Posting from that account is pointless actually.

What makes you guys think it was hacked or sold? He's defending the service. The account would probably be worthless to someone else anyway.

When he first returned he was making posts that were out of character, didn't seem like him. Probably is him, he probably never left, just switched accounts and logs back on the TF account every once in a while.

I can't think of a more worthless reply, enjoying Stunna's new rates?

He was posting weirdly once he came back. It might still be him, we can't really know. His account is useless to him now anyways.

Why do he need to come make a defense, when he has gone and nobody can find him in real life?
