You can mine with both if you use one of the pre-release builds of BFGMiner 4.0 from the GridSeed branch. If you are on Windows you can grab a build here:

Not very easy to say clearly, you should try it yourself and more

Are you scrypt mining or bitcoin mining?

ScalaMiner (https://github.com/colinrgodsey/scalaminer) will work with the 5-chip gridseeds with scypt (simultaneous btc/scrypt mining soon! already doing this with the 1 chip gridseed, and unfortunately have to configure frequency in code, can give u more instrunctions), but I have held off on gpu support for a bit =\ Soon for that too.

There's also the random gridseed cgminer fork, which works ok but crashes constantly when overclocking =\

You can try our StarMiner image (https://sourceforge.net/p/starminer) for a Raspberry Pi which does work quite nicely and is pretty much "plug and mine" oriented.  We will be releasing an updated version that addresses a few items with Gridseed ASIC units in the next day or two as well (just posted this on our StarMiner thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=585028.0) here as well).
