By farming 'gold' you mean earning it in various MMO games for example WoW gold? Or it is something with bitcoin I am not familiar with?

This usually refers to MMO's, but afaik its no longer profitable because there are bigger fish in the game.

I play on RS3, and what I do is do repetitive task all day, then sell off a large amount of gold to a gold seller, and get paid for it.

Not that bad money if you like to play games and work at the same time.

While gold farming can make you money and is fairly easy take warning most of the MMORPG games will pursue legal action against you if you are caught.
This is why I stopped, per say. I haven't sold any for a while, and use other methods of making money off games, one of which has actually been quite profitable.

So how much do you make at an average day and how long do you have to play?

On my new or old method?

Well, due to possible lawsuits, my $18/hour method in RS3 was trashed, so about $18/hour was my pay, depending on gold prices, and my new method, on other games, generates $20-ish per hour. It really depends, I only ever play those games once in a while and I've forgotten about half of them. These days, I get like $1.50/week in Bitcoin (1BTC = $420) from a Minecraft server, only because there's a good community that keeps me on it/

I really haven't done a ton of gold farming in a while, but I'm thinking of restarting it. I think it was the lack of community that stopped me...

the risk is just not worth the money Bro....they have million dollar lawyers to rip you to shreds and take every asset you own and claim it's for damages.    Stick to Bitcoin  at least it's legal  ;)
Yeah, my gold farming days are over. Now, how to work for Bitcoin...

RS3? Disgusting.
RS07 is where I belong (although it was better in 2006)

Agreed RS3 sucks.....ever since EOC came out they ruined that game. I have a high level character all that time wasted because of idiots at that company.  When the company was owned by the folks in the U.K. it was pretty decent but i guess Americans bought it and now since ruined it.

I agree with these, but I played RS3 just because players were moving to it, making a nice gold market. 2007 was better.

That escalated quickly. So you don't farm anymore. Now you hack their server and stole everything. Nice.

Yes I was at DefCon and held that talk you got me...
No, I used to farm in the 90's and early 00's mainly AC and DaoC. We made 18$ a day not an hour and payment was a big problem. But it was a little on the side. There used to be bans in DaoC because people used scripts to farm. Very bad bots though. We used to lure them into traps so they would respawn in a major city... good times :)

If I'm right your talking about MMORGP gold farming? Like WoW, Runescape and other? If yes I'm pretty familiar with It, I did gold farming like an year ago on Runescape, It was pretty profitable and almost autopilot as you used bots for the game so you didn't have to play yourself. Now for using bots you usually get banned sooner or later. So what you basically do Is earning games digital currency and sell It on specific forums or to china companies. You could be making $20/ day  even now days while few years ago you could make much more. But because of bans these days It's a big risk factor to get banned so It's not so profitable now. I would suggest you to stick with bitcoins.
