Title: Mods for Subforums where no mod is mentioned?
Post by: SebastianJu on May 03, 2014, 09:21:44 PM
Who are the mods in subforums where no mod is mentioned especially? Is it theymos there only?

I tried contacting theymos by pm but it seems he isnt reacting. Is there a better way to contact him or should is there another global mod

Thanks!

Global mods, and admins of course. These usergroups have forum wide jurisdiction.
Unless observed and decided otherwise, some subforums don't necessarily need an exclusive moderator.

Right... i know the member list. I would like to know a way to find these users without clicking through 10k pages of members...

If you order by Position, you only need 3 pages. Tops.

"search for members" -> "search by position"

Even better. And make sure to uncheck the rest.

If you search for "mod" you will get a list of Global Moderators, if you search for "admin", you will get a list of Administrators, but if you search for "Staff", you will get a list of most non-Global Moderator Staff members. Staff members with a Donator position will not be on the list (HorseRider, Meni Rosenfeld), as well as Andreas Schildbach and Mike Hearn, who are only moderating their small sections.

All staff can act on reports though, I thought? Because sometimes non-global mods act on my reports.

Global mods can act on all reports, moderators of specific sections can only act on reports of topics within their sections, there are also a few non-Global moderators that can moderate Newbies' posts throughout the whole forum.

Ah, I see - that makes sense then if they can moderate the posts of Newbie's. Thanks for the clarification there.

Looks like you lost all the 4 mentioned staff and also John K.

Use the "report to moderator" link for all mod action requests that have anything to do with posts. Everyone with jurisdiction over the post (global mods, patrollers, and local mods) will see the report.

For other requests, posting in Meta is often a good idea. Or you could contact any global mod.

That's not entirely true, he still is a local moderator for the Chinese local board. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=30.0

In case anybody is wondering, Patrollers is the new term for the mods that can moderate posts made by newbies.

And the above is a reference to the patrol page, which shows recent posts by newbies. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=recent;patrol

Except for theymos, who will just ignore you
