Title: Indication of amount of QB
Post by: Jonesd on May 04, 2014, 11:03:31 AM
To get an indication of the amount of QB around, the first step is to see how many coins people have in their personal wallets. You would really help out if you could post about how much coins you have combined in your wallets. It would help if you PM me your total amount so I know which amounts are real. :)

NOTE: This is only an indication and can easily be messed up by jokers. :)

It seems Quarkbar is not harmed by the scam! :)

The ValueFromAmountWithFee function in itself is innocuous.
It seems to return the value of transaction in case that the tx fee exceeds the maximum.

To see where it is used to hide premine, I searched for line

Code:
ValueFromAmountWithFee(pindexBest->nMoneySupply)

The results are here

https://github.com/search?q=ValueFromAmountWithFee%28pindexBest-%3EnMoneySupply%29&type=Code&ref=searchresults

The first coin to pull the scam is
SHACoin

followed (knowingly or not) by
Evercoin
RainbowCoin
Asiacoin
xxxcoin

This clears Beecoin and Quarkbar of suspicion.

Okay, this is absolutely the worst title of any thread in the history of BitCoinTalk  ;D

But good idea about the list. I think it's important to link to this thread and notify exchanges so they can delist those coins before everyone gets burned again.

Luckily most of those coins are low volume.

Just an FYI, the Rainbowcoin you mention is not the same one as the SHA256 one (https://github.com/Rainbowcoin/Rainbowcoin).

It seems we're in the clear, so I'll close the poll. :)
