The second North American Bitcoin Conference is coming to Chicago this summer. The much-anticipated event will draw thousands of Bitcoin entrepreneurs, businessmen, and tech-savvy developers to the Windy City on July 19-20.

Moe Levin, the organizer of the event, is anticipating an even larger draw in Chicago than the popular first NABC in Miami. Levin elaborated:

“Last conference was spectacular – we expected 750 people, but over 1200 people came. The biggest one yet in the states. Thankfully, we were able to scale it and open up extra rooms. We’re hoping to double that this time in Chicago.”

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the post aliceHortrex.

So, the next North American Bitcoin Conference is happening in Chicago and I can't wait to see all of you there.

The website is http://www.btcchicago.com - and there's a ten percent discount for people using the code "welovebitcoin".

Feel free to ask anything -

Moe

Looks like a lot of great speakers.

Are people going to this? What kind of turn out is expected?

Registration is cheaper than some other Bitcoin events and Chicago is centrally located, which means easier travel for many Americans. I'd be surprised if less than 1,000 showed.

Looks like they'll have plenty of space for it: http://www.mccormickplace.com/floor-plans/south/south-building.php

McCormick Place South Building

The South Building is designed to service events that offer extensive exhibit as well as meeting activities. Highlights include:

Hall A that provides a total of 840,000 square feet of exhibit space. When used inconjunction with the North Building, shows can span 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space on one level.

Forty three meeting rooms that provide 156,000 square feet of space

The Grand and Vista Ballrooms – one at 33,740 square feet and a second at 21,365 square feet – both with extensive pre-function area

aliceHortrex, if you don't want this ad cluttering up this thread, just send me a PM and I'll immediately remove it.

However, it might be worthwhile for anyone coming to Chicago for the Bitcoin Conference to know that if they stick around until July 24, there is an opportunity to use bitcoins to purchase tickets to the Beyoncé & Jay-Z concert at Soldier Field.  This appears to be a collaboration between Coinbase, Blockchain.info, and GoldCoast Tickets.
