Title: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: mnporter2001 on May 06, 2014, 04:24:52 AM Is now the time to but or get the hell out as quick as you can ?
Got to love playing the markets haven't you, Im seriously thinking of buying, what do you all think ? Cheers Mark Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: mazuma on May 06, 2014, 04:44:48 AM well its only going to get worse. In for the foreseeable future, all these asics will be on LITECOIN, and MANY of them will dump for BTC so that they can have a ROI as fast as possible. Good, im glad this is happening. Litecoin no longer has anything special about the coin. Only going to get worse in the foreseeable future.
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: TheCloser on May 06, 2014, 04:51:48 AM There are regularly 15 scrypt coins that are more profitable than LTC to mine. Smart miners will point their miners there to trade up to BTC as quick as they can. Litecoin will see difficulty increases along with these other coins but ultimately ASICs will drag prices down on the short term until difficulty is high enough everywhere that no one can really get ahead anymore. Then everything including litecoin will start to move upwards in price.
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: mazuma on May 06, 2014, 05:20:49 AM your speculating increase in diff means increase in price. Not true at all. Infact it is dependant on the next boom in BTC, when and if it occurs, then price of other alt coins will follow. Diff increase aint got fuck all to do with price. Its all up to the players to play the market, they do not factor in diff when making their decision. Also majority of asic miners are pointed on LTC, its because its stable, and i do agree there are other coins more profitable, problem with that is you cannot leave and forget, with mining LTC you can and alot of these asic miners want. This is why if you notice only WHEN there is a HUGE pump and volume in btc in a coin (whitecoin, asia, doge) that lasts days few days later or more, the LTC diff decreases when people hop of the coin to the other coin. People are slow to catch the new wave.

Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: johnmatrix on May 06, 2014, 06:06:34 AM Yes 50 percent but it rised like 1500 percent in one month.. so i think is time to buy again

Got to love playing the markets haven't you, Im seriously thinking of buying, what do you all think ? Cheers Mark Litecoin is like a lot of other coins, it's down and down hard. The next phase of growth will come from coins with the hardest working communities. To me, that looks like Dogecoin at the moment. Dogecoin is the gangnam style of the crypto world, it'll be yesterday news in no time. Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: malkbaby on May 06, 2014, 07:04:38 AM It's going to be hard for dogecoin to overtake anything when they're the #1 coin that's being dumped by miners and the ASICs will hit Doge even harder =/
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: johnmatrix on May 06, 2014, 07:13:12 AM It seems like doge coin is from the same developers as feathercoin.. they both had the same spamming promotion in the beggining
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: CoinMKT.com on May 06, 2014, 07:29:06 AM Except Doge is on the full steam train momentum strong for a while now. But time will tell how it will last.
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: hashuniverse on May 06, 2014, 07:35:09 AM yes. i really love how dogecoin is doing with its marketing.
litecoin seems like a dying language. no new things. Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: kelsey on May 06, 2014, 07:39:45 AM litecoin seems like a dying language. no new things. dunno about that, there is a ETF on the cards following up after the BTC ETF, then btc/ltc will be in proper investment circles and bounds ahead of anything trapped in this niche market. Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: hashuniverse on May 06, 2014, 07:50:20 AM ltc is a bit overrated.... can't understand what is its appeal now that there is an asic for it.
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: 1Referee on May 06, 2014, 09:02:45 AM Litecoin is not special, it is just one of the many altcoins that we can choose from. Why in the world is Litecoin worth $10 ??? ???
The only reason for Litecoin to reach $48 was a very HARD pump and dump combined with increasing demand from China. At that time the volumes were crazy high, several other coins also reached insane all time highs. People that buy and hold Litecoin above $20 are nuts ;D Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: CoinMin3r on May 06, 2014, 09:51:48 AM I'm holding some LTC hoping to rise it again.
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: wangfuqiang on May 06, 2014, 09:55:26 AM LTC is fading out, the DRK, NXT,Master are more popular.

Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: reRaise on May 06, 2014, 10:06:12 AM Bought at $2 sold at $25 thanks Litecoin, but other alts are progressing, i still hold some just in case
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: mladen00 on May 06, 2014, 10:08:53 AM LTC doesn't have LTC/fiat stable value.
Value of LTC depends on BTC price Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: cutetechie on May 06, 2014, 02:36:48 PM I am still holding LTC...it's been painful the past few months, as it seems to be tracking BTC pricing. The BTC/LTC ratio is quite stable...but since BTC has lost value, LTC has unfortunately followed suit in terms of $ terms.
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: sid7039 on May 06, 2014, 04:30:08 PM Litecoin is not special, it is just one of the many altcoins that we can choose from. Why in the world is Litecoin worth $10 ??? ??? LTC is better than other script alt coins the same way that BTC is better that other SHA256 coins - first, biggest market cap, widely accepted by merchants, exchanges, hard to break because of network hashrate.... LTC isn't just one of the many altcoins - many other altcoins are more or less (usually more) LTC clones. Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: vrm86 on May 06, 2014, 04:35:09 PM LTC doesn't have LTC/fiat stable value. Does BTC have? Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: dogechode on May 06, 2014, 04:39:48 PM It's funny to me how so many people try to make the "oh well it's still X amount higher than it was a year ago" type arguments. The same has been said of bitcoin (which has also dropped 50+% in a few months.)
It's one thing if a coin drops, then stabilizes, then begins to rise again. If it drops massively, then continues to slowly bleed value and slowly fall over weeks, months, etc... then that is a major problem. Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: kalus on May 06, 2014, 04:54:41 PM at least el dude is drinking 50% harder
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: mladen00 on May 06, 2014, 06:49:34 PM LTC doesn't have LTC/fiat stable value. Does BTC have? btc has fiat value it isnt stable, but only btc have it, for now LTC price depends on price of BTC Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: Joe_Bauers on May 06, 2014, 07:31:14 PM 1 LTC has been steadily trading at ~0.02 BTC for almost a year.
Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: iGotSpots on May 06, 2014, 09:00:26 PM It seems like doge coin is from the same developers as feathercoin.. they both had the same spamming promotion in the beggining Feathercoin doesn't even have a unique Genesis block; it uses the same one as LTC. Its basically Litecoin forked at block 1 for different name and numbers Stop buying that bullshit Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: iGotSpots on May 06, 2014, 09:02:34 PM It was like $2 a year ago so I consider this a very good price still +1 wow I agree with you on something. every extreme price rise in any market will be followed by a retrace. You would agree with me on a lot more stuff if you put your emotions aside Title: Re: LTC - 50% wiped of its value in 3 months Post by: biggus dickus on May 06, 2014, 09:42:40 PM I remember stories in the news about how if you bought $5000 of litecoins when they came out you would have been a millionaire by last Christmas. Even if you held onto them you would still have somewhere between a quarter to a third of a million dollars. That's not so bad an investment.
