Title: Sherlock coin .. solo mining not working!
Post by: rppbtc1 on May 06, 2014, 07:35:03 PM
Sherlock coin [SHC] owner is not able to get the pools to work. I had a chat with him and says pools are not responding. I am not blaming the coin owner. He is also trying real hard.

Price of the coin is now 9-10 BTC per coin and difficulty is in single digit. I have few rigs idle. I want to do solo mining, as pools are not working. I am unable to find working network nodes.

It is scrypt based coin and is being traded on some exchanges.

Any tips on how to do solo mining, would be greatly appreciated.

Which coin are you referring to?

Is it fine for a coin owner mine coins without others mining them? Price of the coin in question is gaining but pools which earlier were supporting them have backed out, block chain is finding new blocks every couple of mins which indicates some one is mining and solo mining is not working as IPs it is hitting are timing out.

So you are saying all pools for that coin are gone, and you have problems solo-mining?  ???

If the coin is on an exchange there needs to be a network of nodes that you can submit blocks to.  But it sounds to me that it's a coin you shouldn't bother with.

Must be a really thin volume coin, you're trying to mine.  Is it SHA-256 or one of the Scrypts?
