Title: Fix my 5870 Post by: BTC guy on January 17, 2012, 06:49:57 PM My 5870 stopped working a few weeks ago. Not sure why. There is a red light on towards the back. Was wondering if somebody might be able to fix it.

fans shouldnt move like that, no. card should work still with broken fan(maybe not well but should work), fans get replaced all the time. what do you mean "doesnt hash" is it the one providing video for the desktop? or I'm guessing it is an extra card solely for mining and your mining software doesnt show it as existing? last the red light is def NOT a good sign Title: Re: Fix my 5970 Post by: BTC guy on January 17, 2012, 08:35:27 PM I posted in services cause Im hoping somebody can fix it. Wild guess, sounds like the fans fell off... Or the heatsink, didn't cool it and now it's fried. Suggest selling in goods as faulty as perhaps someone has the same card and wants to take a gamble solding another dead card together Hope this helps. Ebay dead stuff otherwise, give someone thhe chance to fix something |
