Title: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: thm001 on May 07, 2014, 06:22:06 PM Just was on zoomhash.com this morning and it looks like they will be releasing some new scrypt only asics near the end of the month?
(The Wolf ~ 1.26mh, The Lion 13.5mh, and The Dragon 27mh ) Anybody have any more info? The surge of Scrypt ASICs is getting exciting :) Would love to know what kind of chips are under the covers. Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: dreamreamer on May 07, 2014, 11:15:56 PM Im just guessing, but I guess its the same or nearly the same as the ones Zeusminer is selling as they are the same price/performance. If not, they are on the same performace/price level.

Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: jgauthier on May 08, 2014, 02:00:42 PM The question is.. what chipset are they and what mining software is used?
Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: Kokok on May 12, 2014, 07:14:30 PM Looks like the WOLF has been replaced by the 1.2 <H/s ZEUS miner....
Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: bitlind on May 12, 2014, 07:20:23 PM Be careful with these re-branded pre-orders. Zoomhash has a very good reputation, and I will probably be jumping over to them as my primary source for ASICs (from GAWminer), but they are going to be at Zeusminer's mercy when it comes to delivery.
Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: sandpaper on May 12, 2014, 08:10:31 PM Also I don't think you'll get that equivalent hashing power that Zuesminer is currently offering. Why buy 1.2 mh at 199 when you get an extra 60%? at this point for buying from zuesminer. Granted I prefer and will prefer zoomhash to zuesminer, I just can't pass something like that up.

Well there is that $50+ shipping fee to the US to think about when ordering direct. Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: jgauthier on May 12, 2014, 08:39:46 PM The wolf appears to be missing completely from the product offering.
Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: dreamreamer on May 12, 2014, 09:30:34 PM The wolf appears to be missing completely from the product offering. I wonder whats going on with that. I ordered two of the "wolf" and on my orders screen it has been replaced with the "blizzard" including free hashing power. Has it been replaced with zeusminer??? What would suck about that is I bought two blizzards from zeus for $450 and the two from zoomhash for $350. Preording from zeusminer directly is costly!!!! *Also, the "ships May 28" has been removed for the blizzard Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: sandpaper on May 12, 2014, 11:55:07 PM How much hashing power have you / will you receive? That is the only reason I bought off zuesminer directly. They luckily lumped in $50 shipping for 3 of the blizzards, but damn I would have just gone through zoomhash if they had the same offer.
Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: dreamreamer on May 13, 2014, 12:05:42 AM Currently the %15 off for zoomhash (founders coupon) still works, I just ordered another one. $169/shipped for the 1.2mh blizzard with 60% free hashing. Thats what $84 per MH. The 60% ends May 14 and it goes down to 40%.
I do wonder how they keep track of who gets how much free hosted hashing with all the orders and terms :( ??? :( ??? :( Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: jgauthier on May 13, 2014, 12:07:15 AM My order screen still shows two different orders for the Wolf. It has not been changed to the Blizzard.
I have emailed their support team for answers. Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: Bunnywinkles on May 13, 2014, 02:35:04 AM ZoomHash is doing the same offer. I am thinking they teamed with Zeus.
I paid 510 for 3 of the blizzards with the extra hashing power at zoomhash :D Chat with Zoomhash: Christopher (ZoomHash) May 12 16:56 Jacob has joined the room Christopher 16:53: Hi there. How can I help today? Jacob 16:53: The wolf has now became the Bilzzard? Do those who preordered already still get the additional hashing? Christopher 16:53: Hey Jacob, yes you should Christopher 16:54: If there is an issue with it at the time and for some reason we don't set you up with it just open up another chat. Jacob 16:54: Ok, do you know when the cloud hashing will be live? Christopher 16:55: No, there isn't a set date yet. Soon though, everything's already being set up and tested. Jacob 16:55: Ok thats cool, just wanted to see what was happening Jacob 16:55: Thanks! Jacob has left the room Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: jgauthier on May 13, 2014, 10:58:27 AM Can you point these at any pool, or must they be one of these cloud hashing pools?
Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: Bunnywinkles on June 01, 2014, 07:54:19 PM Blizzard has been removed from the site now, and I was called. They told me they will not be shipping it due to power consumption issues, and that I could either have 5% off another miner or a refund. I took the refunds, as the next miner would mean I have to pony up another $150, even after discount.

Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: jgauthier on June 01, 2014, 09:49:48 PM I emailed them yesterday looking for an update on my two outstanding orders with these blizzards. Haven't heard from them yet.
Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: holylacross on June 02, 2014, 01:14:18 AM Wow I really hope that they didnt just drop The Blizzard and will hold true to our orders. I've been looking forward to the ASIC for a month now and for them to just cancel our orders is absolutely ridiculous. I have contacted support yesterday and today with no response. It is the weekend so I hope by tomorrow I will have an answer on these major changes.
I'm almost sicken to read this news Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: jgauthier on June 02, 2014, 01:49:22 AM Agreed. Been looking forward to these for a long time. Hopefully they don't jack gridseeds back up.
Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: Glizlack on June 02, 2014, 03:49:37 AM If they are the rebranded Zeus miners and I suspect they are. Please consider the Zeus chips came in 3x more than orginal spec for power. For example my blizzard when ordered was 15w rated now its 40 watts.
Steve Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: jgauthier on June 02, 2014, 12:45:18 PM I would like to make the decision for myself then.
I would take one for 40W. I have a GPU that does 600kh/s and consumes 200W. Yeah, 15W is nice. But so is 40W. Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: akspa on June 02, 2014, 01:08:44 PM Received this email this morning regarding my pre-order of a single Wolf/Blizzard -
Quote Dear Customer, Thank you for being a Zoomhash.com Customer. As many of you know, there are still some power consumption issues with the Wolf/Blizzard Scrypt Asic. Until those are resolved, we do not feel comfortable shipping the units out to our customers. Therefore, we would like to offer two options for our valued customers that purchased these items: 1. Apply the credit from the Blizzard/Wolf order to an 80 Chip Gridseed Blade Unit @ 5.2-5.6MHs. We will also give you a special price of $650 per unit for these units. or 2. Full Refund If you need further assistance, please call us at (888) 933-5282 and press 802 for Bob. Please respond directly to this email on the choice you would like. If we do not receive an answer within 24 hours, we will automatically do a full refund on the order. Thank you! Zoomhash That answers that question. I guess I'm not getting my asic :( edit: In any case, the increased wattage wouldn't bother me that much, and it would have been nice if they had offered for us to make the decision on our own, instead of pulling the rug out from under us. Makes me wonder what other shops are going to do (although last I checked, they had already shipped out most pre-orders of the blizzard)... Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: jgauthier on June 02, 2014, 06:06:40 PM I spoke with one of the Zoomhash guys on the phone earlier. He said it was more than 40w, but didn't tell me how much.
Enough so that it was a concern to them. Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Most of us have probably been waiting for around a month to get these ASICS, and now they have canceled all orders because of a power consumption issue?? Leave that decisions up to the consumer that has already paid the cost and have been waiting. I don't care if it takes more power, I care about my time. They completely wasted all our time, time we could of spent finding another ASIC for the first batch. Now all of us are left completely out of the first batch wave, missing out on a lot of potential profit and must now either accept a refund or shell out another $450 for an upgrade. And of course ZoomHash waits until the day AFTER they promise everything will be sent, to inform us that they have broken out the oak barrel and for us to bend over it and prepare to get fucked by them. Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: jgauthier on June 02, 2014, 07:14:30 PM They did not make the decision until 2:00am on Sunday morning.
This sucks, but it affects them as well. They are trying to do right by their customers. Title: Re: ZoomHash Prodcuing Custom Scrypt Asics? Post by: Terenth on August 14, 2014, 12:04:39 AM Beware of ZoomHash and zeusminers, Sure they're great if they're problem free. But even if it's broken right out of the box you can expect to come out of pocket for it. What a freaking joke and unreasonable customer service.
Short story, blew up my $150 PSU because one of the boards was internally (almost completely) grounded out. After about 2 weeks of operation (I know amazing PSU) one of the wires finally melted and caused a complete short. I was very very very lucky that they agreed to pay for shipping to exchange the blades. And SOME compensation for down time while exchanging, specifically NOT the 2 weeks of erratic poor performance. Very dissatisfied customer, and I am spreading the word. Beware you are taking a risk purchasing from them. PS I have 2 lightning x6's 1 of them is working good, like I've been saying, it's all good so long as it works without a hitch out of the box. |
