Title: [Cryptostocks] Coinpal - Cryptocurrency Exchange & Profit Switching Mining Pool
Post by: GT3000 on May 08, 2014, 12:47:04 AM
Didn't see a topic here. Thought I'd bring it to everybody's attention.

There's a proper thread in the Service Announcements forum.

What's the point of this post? If it's to promote your website then it's a fail - shibecasino is offline.

The Service Announcements board is a little off the beaten path and Coinpal is a security. Will it make you feel better if I remove my site tags? I'm trying generate discussion on the security with fresh pairs of eyes.

You know you're cheap when you can't even afford a logo.

You know you're destined to fail when you compensate by stealing someone else's copyrighted work for your logo.

But hey, everything that has happened before will happen again. (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/16/fallout-3s-vault-boy-now-delivering-pizza-copyright-infringe/)

Yeah I laughed at that but apparently Ryan G was completely unaware Fallout Boy was even a thing so he had the logo revoked but remains to see what he wants to do that.

I didn't know it was "a thing" either. It looked vaguely familiar and I did a reverse image search. Trying to explain it thusly just makes the operator look incompetent rather than scammy, which I'm not sure is a step up.

It's a fairly iconic image from a really successful series of video games that have exploded in popularity but you're absolutely right that incompetent isn't much better than scammy but the jury's still out.
