Title: Commandline parameters for data files
Post by: DrWatson on July 28, 2010, 08:48:33 AM
Hello everybody... I've been reading the forum for a couple of weeks, and now I think I can suggest another idea to add to the standard Bitcoin client.

Basically it's a way to specify on which files the client is going to operate; this would allow a simple way to make a "portable" version of the client (e.g. a client that resides on a USB pendrive), and would also solve (partially) the problem of having multiple instances of the client running with different network ports on different databases.

Standard software philosophy call for a per-user keeping of software settings, but I think it would be more flexible this way.

I'd like to read what you think about it.

That already exists.
