Title: Understanding subscribe method of stratum Post by: konradp on May 08, 2014, 11:17:08 AM Hi,
Here: http://mining.bitcoin.cz/stratum-mining there is an example of answer to the "subscribe" method: {"id": 1, "result": [[["mining.set_difficulty", "b4b6693b72a50c7116db18d6497cac52"], ["mining.notify", "ae6812eb4cd7735a302a8a9dd95cf71f"]], "08000002", 4], "error": null}\n I understand everything, except: "mining.set_difficulty", "b4b6693b72a50c7116db18d6497cac52", can somebody tell me what is this? Edit: yes I did read all(?) the topics related to stratum, including this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=108533.0 but I couldn't find any information related to this line. Why none of my stratum-related questions are answered... :( Is this a top secret project or what... Title: Re: Understanding subscribe method of stratum Post by: eleuthria on May 10, 2014, 12:27:04 PM Ignore it. In no implementation of stratum will you see the response identified on that page with mining.set_difficulty and a weird hex string after it mixed with the subscribe response. You'll see the mining.notify/ae6812..../extranonce1/extranonce2 size.
