It was issued in 1999 or so, with the occasion of the 2000* full Solar eclipse, which was best viewed from Romania(hence it's 2000 Lei/ROL value).
However, in the meantime we switched from ROL(ROmanian Leu) to RON(ROmanian New leu). This banknote might still have some numismatic value. LE: The eclipse was actually in 1999.
